The Staten Island man who took the cellphone video seen around the world of a cop killing Eric Garner with a chokehold said Thursday the grand jury was rigged. “I think they already had their minds made up,” Ramsey Orta told the Daily News a day after the panel voted not to charge Officer Daniel Pantaleo with a crime.

I never commented on your support for LEO’s one way or the other.

And yep, I’m annoyed, because I have been arguing with brain dead idiots about this since last night.

People who do not even know what actually happened commenting on this as if they did.

So yeah, if you can prove that the cop murdered the guy by taking him down with a headlock, go knock yourself out, dude.

I won’t hold my breath, because you can’t.

People like you give mankind a bad name.

Bottom line, the officer did not use a ‘choke hold’. The method he used was taught in the academy.

“During his testimony before the grand jury, Pantaleo denied using a chokehold on Garner, saying he applied “a takedown move as he was taught in the [Police] Academy,” London said.”

“He testified in the grand jury that he utilized the techniques that he was trained with in the police academy,” Pantaleo’s attorney, Stuart London, told CBS2’s Kramer. “He was attempting to do a take-down move, which he was taught in the academy. He never intended to apply any force to the individual’s neck, and any contact with the neck was incidental.”

My comment was directed at your absurd statement about not resisting arrest, of course you would miss that.

I assume they all think the grand jury was 65 year old white men from the south or something. No blacks. No Hispanics. Just old, racist white men. Just one thing for these fools to remember. All those old, racist white men from the south, in those days they were all DIMOCRATS!!! Algore, Senior, had his black nanny for little Algore and she was not allowed in restaurants they went too. So daddy gore did not exactly help out blacks. Just for the record, show me what Algore Junior has done for blacks! NOTHING!!! All he has accomplished is selling his TV station to the gee-hod-ist from izzlam, Algore-gee-zera. Yup. All those racist white men from the south, setting on a grand jury in NY.

yeah I agree with that.

One can clearly see in the video that he wasn’t choking the man at all.

I suspect that he had a heart attack from the excitement caused by the arrest itself.

That is why I posted a couple of pictures of MMA choke hold in another thread.

When your intent is to choke someone out, it looks very much different from what happened in that video. There is no similarity at all.

But people still argued to me that the cop choked him even in spite of those pictures of actual chokes.

‘My comment was directed at your absurd statement about not resisting arrest, of course you would miss that.’

No. I disagree completely with your assertion that there’s an equivalent between Jews suffering under Nazi Germany, resisting arrest and that of Mr. Garner committing a crime and resisting arrest in our present day civil society. Mr. Garner was not a part of an institutionalized process of persecution, torture, and death because of his race. Mr. Garner chose to break the law, chose to resist arrest, and still had legal rights, and the opportunity to face a judge. If the differences between Mr. Garner’s life within our civil society and that of Jews under Hitler are still fuzzy, a visit to your nearest Holocaust Museum may help clarify.

So, for selling loose cigerettes it is okay for the police to MURDER this young man?

He was clearly not resisting arrest, so you support fascists killing innocent people, we are innocent until proven guilty, right.

He did not resist or threaten the officers in any way.

Yes he did. Apparently you have only seen the edited video. You missed the part where he kept slapping the police officer's hands away and kept RESISTING ARREST.

Also, the FIGHT that resulted in the police being called is not even being mentioned. Were you even aware of that ?

They rolled up ready for a fight.

Let's say it is true. Why do you think they were 'ready' for a fight with this guy ? Maybe because they knew him well, and had arrested him 30 other times and he fought with them every time ?

They were there to break up a fight to begin with. I assume they had to be ready to fight to break up the fight.

You certainly seem to have a lot of misinformed opinions of this incident.

but is selling cigarettes without a license a felony or is it a misdemeanor?

The police were there because they were called to the scene of a 'disturbance' (fight) in front of the store.

The police have to arrest those involved, until they can find out what happened. If they find that one person was simply trying to stop the fight, they can then release that person. However, Garner chose to resist arrest, slapping away the hands of the officers. That is a felony.

And you're still standing by the fact that this was not excessive force?

Garner was involved in a fight. The cops were called. The police wanted to handcuff him (place him under arrest) until they could find out what really happened.

He resisted arrest. He argued with the cops and swatted away their hands during their first attempts to NOT USE FORCE. He gave them no choice.

He died because he had asthma , heart disease ,was obese and over exerted himself in the struggle. His heart couldn't take it.

If he had run from the police and had a heart attack, would you have blamed the cops for his death ?

They go into jail, and get their three hots and a cot, plus free medical care.

Seems like he should have taken less advantage of the 'three hots' and more advantage of the 'free medical care'.

And for an unarmed man for selling single cigarettes?

That is not why the cops were called to the scene. That is just what the media wants you to believe.

So which of these six cops caused the death?

His physically refusing to be arrested is what caused his death. A man in his condition shouldn't get in physical fights. Especially if he's just been in a fight (which he had, but no one seems to recognize or know about that part) and his heart was about to explode anyway. Then add the 'anger' over being arrested. I'm surprised he didn't die sooner. Let's say the cops 'contributed' to his death. Back to your original question.

It's hard to say because he stroked out later due to overexertion during his arrest. It's easiest to blame the guy that had him around the neck, but that only contributed to it, just like the one's sitting on him holding him down, and the one's grabbing his arms and pulling them behind his back.

So, all six, plus Garner himself.

I’d say that if you are obese, have diabetes, heart disease, and asthma, then maybe choosing crime as a job was not the best choice.

To my mind it is better for the courts to take him off the streets than a coroner did in this case.

True. The reason he died is because of the Justice System.

What do they have in NYC anyway, a 50 strike law ?

Being arrested 30 times for the same thing is not enough ?

"If he had run from the police and had a heart attack, would you have blamed the cops for his death?"

Not sure why you pinged me unless it was to share the info about the fight he was in prior to the cops arriving. Didn't know that, and can't recall seeing it in any of the articles I read on the topic. Having had to restrain multiple convicts through my 25 years as a correction officer, I fully understood, and had no problem with the cops doing their job that day. Garner died because of his own stupidity, plain and simple.
