Even though moderate Republican candidates lose presidential elections without the conservative base (see: George H.W. Bush '92, Bob Dole '96, John McCain '08, Mitt Romney '12), former Florida Governor and potential presidential candidate Jeb Bush thinks conservatives are not needed to win the White House.
Bush believes that a presidential candidate who is "willing to lose the primary to win the general" has the best shot at the White House.
*snip*
Should Bush run, his embrace of comprehensive amnesty legislation and Common Core will put him at odds with conservative voters in the early primary states.

Go to the Gallup website and you’ll see that conservatives greatly outnumber liberals in America. Jeb’s royal blood has poisoned his brain.
Let’s take an oath. No more Bushes.
State laws that mandated open primaries were declared unconstitutional several years back. Now all open primaries are enacted by state parties.
Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
What a *******!!!! I oppose him with every fiber of my being!
See ya in hell, Jeb.
You’ve reached bottom, Jeb.
Stop digging.
Didn’t fall far from the tree, did he?
However I do want him to run, along with Romney, the NJ gov, Mcain and a few other RINOs. We keep getting stuck with RINOs as our candidate because the establishment runs 1 candidate in the primary and we run lots. This splits our votes.
What I think we really need to do long term is have a national run-off primary every presidential election with the top 2 candidates. This would prevent the minority side from benefiting from the large field the majority puts up.
So, the GOPes are ready to ally with the liberal Rats against GOP conservatives.
No surprise about those Quislings.
That was Team Romney’s calculation too. So how did that work out?
Hah.
I think you are overestimating Bernie’s appeal.
Maybe Fauxcahontas instead.
A billion dollars down the toilet.
You already know I will vote for the lesser of 2 evils, and I pray that isn't Jeb Bush.
Don’t worry about what Jeb thinks. Jeb and folks like him are trying to drive us from the pubbie party so they can have their way with it and America. Don’t fall for it. Jeb is baiting you. Just laugh at and ignore Jeb. Remember, one doesn’t get to the general by loosing the primary. Hi EV, good seeing you around.
Likewise.
Like his brother, GW, and his daddy, Jeb is neither a conservative Republican nor a RINO. Rather, he is a
Bushican. None of the three of them can be counted on to
support the Republican Party or Republicans of any stripe.
A glaring example to me is the failure of GW to ever defend
himself or the GOP in the face of withering media and Democrat criticism. Hyper partisanship may not be the best way to go but the Bush clan allies itself only with itself.
