Obama 'puzzled' at annual turkey pardon
CNN ^ | 11/26/14 | Alexandra Jaffe

....Obama pardoned the national Thanksgiving turkey with a smile on Wednesday, but he admitted before saving the bird from it's likely demise that he found the decades-old tradition somewhat "puzzling."

"It is a little puzzling that I do this every year, but I will say that I enjoy it because with all the tough stuff that swirls around in this office it's nice once in a while just to say, 'Happy Thanksgiving,'" he said.

Obama "found the decades-old tradition somewhat "puzzling."

Obama shouldn't let this discourage him, he isn't alone.

Most illegal aliens are puzzled by many of our traditions and values.

Foreigners/illegal aliens often have difficulty understanding the customs of the countries to which they migrate.

“It’s likely demise”?
CNN really doesn’t understand the correct use of the possesive of “it”?

Has this been changed in Common Core?

I don’t know why; but I became irritated when zero the muzzie, did the Catholic sign-of-the-cross in front of the turkey. Maybe it’s just me.

I was offended by his mockery, and I'm not a Christian.

He's cool with Mohameddan traditions.

Yep. "The most beautiful sound in the world."

(Sometimes, I think he was reared on Mars instead of Indonesia.)

I have always thought the “turkey pardon” a ridiculous idea.

SOME traditions are just dumb. The turkey was raised as a food bird so eat the darn thing!

Traditional or not, pardoning a turkey is rather stupid on the face of it. Now this one must join all the other turkeys in TURKMO who enjoy freedom from unwarranted search, seizure, and whatever other abuses might be heaped upon a hapless population. As for me, I’d like to be pardoned for not participating in Obamacare and for producing CO2.

I, too, am puzzled that he does this every year.

He hates U.S. traditions. That’s because he hates the United States. Bless the disillusioned, jealous baby’s little heart!

We don’t. Obambi does. And I didn’t say white meat. It was a white turkey. Feathers. White.

He hates any American tradition

This one troubles him more. Why give up the opportunity to get a freebie be heading in? ‘Oh well, if that what you stupid Americans want to do’

Nope, at least two of us in this non-RCC household found it to be...weird.

The nearly 50-pound snow-white turkey calmly accepted the president's pardon as flashbulbs burst and officials looked on.

Uh, flashbulbs have been outmoded technology for HOW MANY decades???

I think Obama's afraid of the turkey, probably because of the drugs in his system. So embarrassing.

Came here to say that. You’re still eating meat on the day.

The pardoning is just a silly thing that should come to an end. I don’t need a showman for a president much less the dictator we got.

Not every tradition is a good idea. If I were President, I’d discreetly butcher the turkey and point out to the nation that all work is dignified and no one should be above it.

VERY good point! Why DOES VJ allow him to do this tradition each year? Hard to figger.
