NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – Protesters angry about the grand jury decision in Ferguson, Missouri first shut down an entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel during the evening rush Tuesday, then shut down both sides of the Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive. The FDR was shut down in both directions at East 6th Street as of shortly before 9 p.m. the protesters marched, police said.
Protesters tried to go over the Williamsburg Bridge, but police would not allow them to do so, according to witnesses. Some shoving between protesters and police was also observed. Protesters did later begin walking over the Manhattan Bridge.
A protester on the East Side of Manhattan was also seen lighting an American flag on fire.

Personally I’m worried about one thing there. Hipsters collect old 80s music gear because its trendy. That area has the highest concentration of rare and extremely valuable synths on the planet. I want nothing to happen to them.

I’d be beyond livid if I was coming into Manhattan and the Lincoln was closed.
I’d give up and go home.
The sheer volume of Roland Jupiters/Junos/SH and Korg or Moogs per square mile there is staggering. They are old, analog and thus a desired commodity for their retro hipness. Many are simply status symbols for their owners. Which is good as they are unused. But if Williamsburg goes up, a massive part of our musical legacy goes with it.
Being a dedicated Roland Fanboi with An Integra7 and dreams of one day owning an increasingly rare/expensive Jupiter 8, I care about such things. Hipsters and their trust fund lifestyles, not so much
