The sheer volume of Roland Jupiters/Junos/SH and Korg or Moogs per square mile there is staggering. They are old, analog and thus a desired commodity for their retro hipness. Many are simply status symbols for their owners. Which is good as they are unused. But if Williamsburg goes up, a massive part of our musical legacy goes with it.
Being a dedicated Roland Fanboi with An Integra7 and dreams of one day owning an increasingly rare/expensive Jupiter 8, I care about such things. Hipsters and their trust fund lifestyles, not so much
