Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.), who shockingly toppled former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) in a primary this summer, says he'll support John Boehner (R-Ohio) for Speaker.
Brat told The Hill he plans to vote for Boehner on the floor in January when the Speaker is elected by the full House for the new Congress.
"As of right now, yeah," Brat said. "I'm optimistic our leadership's going to move forward on the principles I ran on."

It’s too soon for a credible challenge to Boehner. Bide your time, and keep your powder dry.
Powder is so dry it won’t burn now.
Exactly.
Personally I couldn’t understand why people were pushing for Gowdy to run for speaker. That would have removed him from his investigation which is right where he needs to be.
“”As of right now, yeah, I’m a RINO” Brat said. “I’m optimistic our leadership’s going to move forward on the principles they promised you fools. NOT!”
Fixed it.
Now that Boehner has sufficient backup from a Republican Senate, let’s see which way he rolls. The same with McConnell. They may grow spines yet.
Lets put our dry powder in a vault under a mountain with a moat filled with alligators around the mountain so that when we really really need it we will have it.
Ah, so you’ve been to Jack Benny’s vault.
I see disappointment in your future, Mr. Brat.
Wow, that didn’t take long.
They learn quick in the cesspool.
I may grow wings. Unicorns may poop skittles. Some folks just gotta lick that frozen flagpole a 34th time though.
Had someone launched a credible challenge to Boehner’s speakership, Brat would have had a choice of whom to back. But so far, no one has said boo about a challenge.
Suckers!
“They may grow spines yet”
They are both failing out of the block, I hold out little hope. Both are compromised entrenched establishment puppets.
The first step would have to be for someone to openly challenge Boehner. Then chits could be gathered for a competitive vote on a possible replacement. Have you heard any Republican talk seriously about a challenge to the Speaker?
“But so far, no one has said boo about a challenge”
That’s why I quit the Republican party.
Besides biden, boehner is the most pathetic public figure I can think of.
Wow, I supported him. Not shocked though. Sad really.
The first step was to not re elect him and take the loss. People knew better. We needed the RINO. Well, they got him. And in a couple days he stabbed every one of them in the back.
Solution? Vote smarter in 2 years if thats still allowed. If not? Oh well. We tried warning people. Actions and willful ignorance haZ a cinsequenZeZ.
Along with a cast of 100’s.
