... Lawyers for Ingmar Guandique and the government were scheduled Wednesday to begin three days of hearings. Guandique's lawyers say he was convicted on the basis of false or misleading testimony given by a one time cell mate and prosecutors knew or should have known the testimony was false and investigated the man further. ...

Hmmmm, FReepers.... Who could have done it????? The sweet young intern, going back to CA but not wanting to break up with her lover Congressman... Sure he will leave his loveless marriage and be with her... She gets a call from him, excitedly calls her one confidante, her aunt, to tell her exciting news, but Auntie wasn't home. Then she Google searches the DC park, is careful to leave without phone or ID like Condit always had her do, and is never seen alive again...
Condit is asked for a timeline of his activities and lies about that very day, and is MIA for many hours thst afternoon...
Condit is finally called by the worried Levys (who had then been told by the Aunt about the affair) who need to know their daughter is OK. He is stepping onto a flight to DC and will alert the police himself when he lands, he assures them. But he is sure she must be on a train crossing the country home to them. And you know how disorienting a five hour flight can be - poor Congressman, he forgot all about the missing lover and how he was supposed to call the cops. These things happen!
Then he starts dropping jewelry into McDonald's bags, dropping them into trashcans on the far side of town. Tabloids flash with stories of his full body shaving, his dressing naked in leather chaps, the drunken biker parties with foreigners and fellow congressmen (his bud Kasich got married and had twins 15 minutes after those articles surfaced).
At the very least, Condidit might be able to have some idea what could have happened to Chandra, no?
[/tongue-in-cheek]
Does Chandra have any naked Google photos I can review? [/tongue-in-cheek]
It had something to do with a tip...maybe two...that turned them in a different direction. I'll try to find the incident.
Have little doubt that Condit was responsible for her death...either by himself or he and a buddy.
... if Monica had not had that stained blue dress ...
This was consuming the news in the summer of 2001.
Then Sept. 11th dawned...........
I hate it when my memory is reawakened to unexplained, unanswered things that just sort’a disappeared
And buddy Joe Scarborough. Both Kasich and Scarborough declined to run again after this happened. Condit was redistricted into a losing district.

Thanks </sarc
Now I have to use those BLEACH eye drops...
Or she went running/walking so she didn’t carry a phone or ID
And then there was the body of a women fund in Scarborough’s office in Florida. That incident was just sort of downplayed by Scarborough put out of focus by the media. Never heard a cause of death in that incident.
Haven’t heard Chondra’s name in forever.
Condidit...
Hummmm... That's the same time period another young female was murdered!
Who is Lori Klausutis?
Many Americans probably have forgotten, or never knew, that a 28-year-old female staff member was found dead in the summer of 2001 in the office of U.S. Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-FL)
On July 20, 2001, one of Scarborough's aides died after hitting her head on a desk when she fainted while alone in Scarborough's Fort Walton Beach, Florida, office.[20] According to Scarborough, soon after the death, allegations "spread all over the Internet" that he had been involved.[20][21] There was no evidence of foul play.

This conviction stunk to high Heaven! The ONLY evidence was a jailhouse snitch.
Of course, this guy is an illegal immigrant, so that was enough to satisfy most FReepers.
Kudos to the people fighting for justice here! They can’t be making any friends.
During three days starting Wednesday, an array of witnesses from Florida, California and beyond will zero in on Armando Morales. Morales testified compellingly that Guandique had confessed to him while they were cellmates at a federal prison in Kentucky. Well after the trial concluded, Morales own record as a law enforcement informant came to light.
The issue we have here, D.C. Superior Court Judge Gerald Fisher summed up at a hearing last week, is Mr. Morales, and what was known or should have been known about him by the U.S. attorneys office.
Further complicating the picture, Fisher noted, is the recent discovery that there may be deleted emails to and from prosecutors during crucial points of the pretrial preparations. Justice Department and defense attorneys are now trying to reconstruct the record.

Of course, Condidit. No doubt about it. Two mistresses, lies, missing time and tossing expensive watches in dumpsters. Lucky for him the cops were able to make up a lame case for an illegal who barely spoke English.
They had to get SOMEBODY to take the fall for Gary Condit.
Of the three, only Kasich never had any dead interns.
