Christian students at a Colorado public high school were told they could no longer meet to pray, sing religious songs or discuss religious topics during free time because such activity violated the U.S. Constitution, a lawsuit filed in federal court alleges.
Chase Windebank is a senior at Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs. Three years ago he started meeting together informally with his classmates for prayer and religious fellowship. The young people would meet in an unoccupied choir room to sing songs like Amazing Grace and discuss the issues of the day from a religious perspective.
But all that changed on Sept. 29th when Chase was summoned to the office of Assistant Principal James Lucas.
He was told that he could no longer pray with his fellow students during free time because of the separation of church and state, said Jeremy Tedesco, an attorney representing the teenager.

.....and these people are “educating” our children. They don’t even know the Constitution, and yet.....
DEFY.
Viewpoint discrimination.
But I am sure they will gladly offer prayer rugs for the mooslim students. Wouldn’t want to offend them...
Christians have to get more punitive when their civil rights are violated in demands for large settlements and the removal of bigoted bullying officials. They should demand that officials be educated on the first amendment. The Christian parents should get real uppity about the official being fired for being a bully. Do like the Marxists and the homos and make that person’s life miserable until they leave. We let people go when they are a danger to us even if we love them.
Christian parents should get it together now with practicing on the Marxists and then when Muslims come along through Christlam to bully them, they will be organized and ready to resist and conquer.
Let me just say this clearly, to those who have not studied our Bill of rights and want the shortcut on this matter.
“Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
This means that the government shall not have an official state religion for which we all are compelled to practice; we can speak our minds without repercussions from the state, gather with like minded people of our choice, and raise our voices to the government if we feel we have been transgressed.
Therefore, the kids can worship God with each other if they like on campus, and if they are punished, they can speak out and bring suit.
About twice a year when our kids were in school, I changed policy. 90% took all of 5 minutes on the phone.
Teachers are in the lower percentile.
If parents rule the schools, these teachers don’t seem to think so, even going so far as to declare themselves “the state” here.
A few months with this plan in place, and you just watch how many of these so-called "Liberals" decide to register as "Republican" next time!
;^)
Especially if there is an atheist club or Muslim student group.
Parents do rule. Or they do when they vote and stand up for their kids. The state education mucky-mucks are a result of The People. More so are the local mucky-mucks.
When parents move to a new house, how many investigate the school district and the schools their kids will be attending? Very few bother so it’s their own fault when their 5 year old gets suspended for chewing the corner out of a Pop Tart or dares ask why Johnny has two daddies.
Guaranteed, a principal will likely cave when 3 parents call him on a stupid new rule. Deep down, he knows who writes his paycheck. Superentendents’ egos are harder to crack but 1) tell him to have the school lawyer to explain the law to him or 2) tell him you’re calling the media will usually get prompt results. The state legislature may take a week or two of phone calls but they also know where they get their paychecks.

I have read the US Constitution. What sort of MORON do you need to be to think what these children were doing violates anything in our Constitution.
Young people need to learn a new phrase: “If you violate my 1st Amendment rights, you will be on the six o’clock news, so help me God”.
these teachers, principals and administrators advocating and ordering anti-Christian expressions need to be fired - now!!
More school officials who have never read the Constitution
Okay can someone explain to me if these kids are supposed to be the church or the state??
takes one leftist complainer
80% of the parents could complain about some leftist crap and be totally ignored
those who do this need to be fired, period
