Some in Republican Party Fear Fight With Obama on Immigration

There is concern firebrands may alienate Latino voters.

With President Barack Obama vowing to press ahead on immigration, prominent Hispanic Republicans are worried about the reaction of staunch conservatives. They fear it will harm the party's ability to win over Latinos in the next presidential election and beyond.

While immigration was generally a muted issue in midterm elections dominated by the GOP, Obama promised the next day to move ahead on his own to remove the threat of deportation or grant work permits to an unspecified number of immigrants living here illegally.

Dunno what else to call it. Screamed bloody murder before the election, screaming now. I even offered to send her a new keyboard a week ago but I guess hers wasn’t really broken.

So I call it like it is.

Yes there are SOME RINOS that want Amnesty

however the majority of Republicans do not want amnesty which is why the GOP as a whole has stopped Amnesty since 1994, or all of the years they had a majority in the House

meanwhile the dictator Obama is about to make congress irrelevant so our discussion is irrelevant. he is a dictator and is about to grant Amnesty to illegals by Christmas. that will destroy this country.

It only worries me because I know the GOP leadership won’t meet much a blatant violation of constitutionally-enumerated powers with the constitutional remedy that is required.

Does it not worry you that we have a Republican leadership that is so weak and careless of its sworn obligations?

Again, why is it that a body with the ultimate constitutional power over the executive branch would be, as you say, 'irrelevant'?

Because we need to sit down and shut up until Amnesty passes. Then we can all scream and holler about how ‘mad’ we ‘really’ are because they ‘refused to listen’ after it makes not a tinkers Damn of difference.

That’s why. See, you just hate America and love Obama because you are obstructing them helping Obama.

Don’t try and follow their “logic” too close, Norm. It’s probably not good for your mental health.

because Obama is becoming a dictator . he has perpetrated a coup.

have you read about how Obama is about pass Amnesty without congress , by executive order? it's been in the news. that makes congress irrelevant.

http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2014/11/06/sessions-republicans-will-fight-obamas-executive-amnesty-n1915057

you are right that Congress has the ultimate power and that the Constitution makes the presidency a weak office .but Obama has perpetrated a coup. he has no authority to do what he has and what he is planning to do . the media hides all of this form the public. hopefully now that the Republicans will have some power they will address these crimes of Obama . i don't know if they just don't know that is illegal or that we are all just living in the matrix created by the liberal media , the latter i think.

“Sessions: Republicans Will Fight Obama’s Executive Amnesty For Millions of Illegal Immigrants”

the media controls this country. they say a football player hitting his wife in an elevator is news but obama with all his unlawful executive orders is not news . and everyone follows the media programming as if that were reality

Oh this is sane compared to the Apple Fanboi threads.

I swear to God EV. There is no level to which a RINObot will not lower themselves to excuse the very clearly spoken words of the Blessed RINO. Sickening.

He can’t be a dictator if Congress doesn’t let him be a dictator.

Neither can the media.

All they have to do is stand up for AMERICANS and they will not have to be afraid. So what if a bunch of non-Americans don’t like it. Too frigging bad.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

I truly believe that legal Latinos are NOT in favor of amnesty either. Their jobs, their income would decline. just like the Anglos, plus —and this is a very big plus —the overarching feeling against illegals here would go against them too.

Just a thought, but worth exploring.
Did Ted Cruz get a majority of Latino votes in TX?

Why aren't they concerned about alienating White voters?

If the Latinos didn’t throw a wrench in the wheel during this election, more of what gave us the extra seats/governorships will likely reap similar benefits. They try to put the Latinos on the same plantation as they have corralled the Blacks onto and ignore that the Ltinos don’t want to all go there and some Blacks are finding holes in the fence to escape through. Would that Cruz runs and channels The Gipper in tone and substance during the campaign.
