The single most influential band for me in high school. When I began to realize blue rock and blues was the music for me.
Girl I was dating at the time loaned me her Disraeli Gears album. That was it. I also have very fond memories of parking with her when we were supposed to be at the Winter Park Library. I wonder if my parents really bought that hogwash.
Tonight I’ll have a beer and watch the reunion DVD. RIP Jack. Your were the best.

For a rocker, 71 is a good run.

Ginger Baker today looks only a few years older than he did in 69.Still looks younger than Keith Richards. Of course, everyone looks younger than Keith Richards.

Neither of my parents lived long enough to collect social security, and they were both health nuts -- no smoke, no drink, careful diet, frequent exercise. Didn't help them.
A 1960s rocker making it to 71? Good for him! RIP

Saw him with Cream as a teenager, then later when he teamed up with Leslie West for West, Bruce and Lang. Both great concerts. Thanks for the reminder. Those 3 rocked. Was this before or after Mountain?

Also check out Ginger Baker in Africa. Does a fair job trying to keep up with Fela.

Would that have been around November/December... ?
I have a cloudy recollection of seeing them in a high school basement or something in the south shore ... maybe Braintree.

Oh no!
I saw Cream in the late 60’s. That outrageous punchy bass sound was unique to Mr. Bruce.
Great songwriter.
May he RIP.

He’d suffered several very serious health problems, From wiki;
“Bruce had suffered a period of declining health, and in the summer of 2003 was diagnosed with liver cancer. In September 2003, he underwent a liver transplant, which was almost fatal, as his body initially rejected the new organ.[13] He has since recovered, and in 2004 reappeared to perform “Sunshine of Your Love” at a Rock Legends concert in Germany organised by the singer Mandoki.”

My favorite bass player. When I was a teen in the late 60s I worked all summer to save enough money to buy a Gibson EB-3 like his.
RIP, Jack, thanks for the incredible, improvisational riffs.
Please add me to your list!
