U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday rejected a call for travel bans from Ebola-ravaged West Africa, suggesting that it was too early for such a move.
We have a lot of people in Sierra Leone and in places like Liberia who are dual citizens, the Nevada Democrat said in Henderson. If there was a ban they would just fly to smaller countries before coming here.
House Republicans had called for such a travel ban at a congressional hearing Thursday. President Barack Obama rejected the proposal on Friday.
Reid also backed the Obama administrations approach to the deadly, expressing faith in just-appointed Ebola Czar Ron Klains ability to do an outstanding job combating the fast-moving disease.

Of course he does. This asswipe will do what the clown in chief tells him to do. Dance puppet dance!!
I think all incoming people from West Africa should be confined in Reid’s condo at the Ritz Carlton in DC for 21 days and Reid should be required to stay there and alert everyone as to their condition.
“an invasion of America through the transmission of viruses may be considered payback on the part of the Left”
You are 100% correct my friend. The useful idiots on the left think they are visionaries.
Meanwhile, they activate in themselves the very worst of human depravity—the call for genocide—but they’re too stupid to understand they’re digging their own graves.
Reid is a schriveled up old America hating hag.
You don't ban FLIGHTS you ban PEOPLE who have recently traveled to one of the infected countries from boarding a plane to here!!
EVERYONE coming to the US via plane ALREADY has to go through customs BEFORE getting on the plane coming here!!
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CHECK THEIR FREAKING PASSPORT FOR A RECENT VISIT TO ONE OF THE WEST AFRICAN COUNTRIES!
We have IDIOTS running our government, and THIS TIME their low IQ’s could KILL US ALL !
When was the last time Dingy Harry was concerned about the American people?

It doesn’t matter what countries they have to take connecting flights from. The US can deny them travel visas. How hard is that?
The flu season in just starting. People are going to get sick and think it’s Ebola. The hospitals are going to get flooded. We are headed for a serious meltdown of medical care in this country. Oh, and we have Obamacare. Once people start dieing maybe this country will react. Let’s hope it will not be too late. It’s going to be a long cold winter in this country.
Harry’s 15 minutes is almost up
When was he crowned king?
But if it saves one child, is it not worth it?
The liberals own ebola. It’s their fault.
white America deserves whatever it gets
That was the gem. There’s your answer.
95% of confirmed cases have an incubation period in the range of 1 to 21 days; 98% have an incubation period that falls within the 1 to 42 day interval. [1]
Unless the sentence structure is somehow misleading, this passage appears to indicate the following:
95% of Ebola incubations occur from 1 21 days
3% of Ebola incubations occur from 21 42 days
2% of Ebola incubations are not explained (why?)
If this interpretation of the WHOs statistics are correct, it would mean that:
1 in 20 Ebola infections may result in incubations lasting significantly longer than 21 days
The 21-day quarantine currently being enforced by the CDC is entirely insufficient to halt an outbreak
People who are released from observation or self-quarantine after 21 days may still become full-blown Ebola patients in the subsequent three weeks,
even if they have shown no symptoms of infection during the first 21 days.
(Yes, read that again
)
I hope they have this on tape/video so it can be played over and over as Americans are dying from Ebola.
house needs to pass a bill requiring quarantine or banning visitors from ebololand and see if the senate votes it down they need to do it now before the election, the people want the ban/quarantine overwhelmingly.
Boehner do something, either pass legislation or quit.
I wonder if the Regime has contemplated a travel ban from the US to other countries, once Ebola is epidemic here in the States?
I fully understand the statistics, and that they may need to be revised for different strains of virus.
95% is pretty good.... 98% is better, but 42 days (six weeks) is a looong time. People who have been exposed should be warned, but at some point, you can’t keep them quarantined any longer.
I’m not wedded to the 21 days, but I don’t know if doubling the time for the extra 3% of safety is doable from a behavioral and societal point of view.
