It is National School Lunch Week, an occasion that could imply a celebration of, say, grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate milk. That is not the case, however, as the nations schools try to address new federal standards that call for healthier fare.
We must address the visible realities of complying with school nutrition requirements, says National School Boards Association executive director Thomas J. Gentzel, who has released a damning new survey that finds eight out of 10 American schools now reporting increased food waste, and increased costs. Three fourths also report lesser participation from the kids themselves.

Looks like a prison lunch.
Grilled Cheese made with goobermint cheese and a bowl of soup.
One of the better school lunches if I recall.

Government school is child abuse.
There’s a reason they call it “institutional food service”.

Just tell FEDZILLA to shove it.
Ping list ping.
Since most of school were Catholic (myself included) school
would serve grilled cheese on Fridays......
I miss the sloppy joes myself and cobblers.
A well made grilled cheese sandwich is culinary perfection.
.
Same here. The town was about 60% ethnic Catholic so it was just easier to make government grilled cheeses on friday.

This is what will eventually put an end to the idiocy coming from that wookie in the White House. School districts need a sizeable number of families paying the full price of school lunches in order for their programs to work, and without that revenue there's no incentive for the schools to take Uncle Sam's money at all.

Hmmm. You are right, but it makes me wonder what would have happened if Michelle had undertaken to reform prison food instead of kids’ lunches. Probably the criminals would have gotten only the best of comfort food, kind of what Michelle and O eat whenever they please. And the prisoners could order from personalized menus each day.
Monday - Sliced turkey in gravy with mashed potato
Tuesday - Fish sticks and fries
Wednesday - Shells and tomato sauce w/grated cheese
Thursday - Hamburger and fries
Friday - Pizza (in squares)
Milk (Plain or chocolate) every day
Also, during recess, the teachers would sell snacks in the classroom for 15 cents. A Twinkie, Reeses Peanut Cups, Cheez-its or those three chocolate chip cookies wrapped in cellophane
Especially when made with a slice of fresh, vine ripened tomato.
Lets Move, sounds like a campaign to increase our fiber intake ;-) Then again it would be quite apropos being that Moochelle is so full of it.
Another government success story. When are people going to figure out that beast.gov serves only itself, and does what it does to grab power by any means necessary.
The black horse of the apocalypse... ridden by the scale-wielding fat FLOTUS of famine.
it appears that the kids are being served.....deep fried something or other...?
Could the mooch actually allow that?
