An American aid worker threatened with beheading by the terror group ISIS is afraid to die and saddened by the impact his imprisonment is having on his parents, he wrote in a letter his parents released Sunday. Abdul-Rahman Kassig, 26, thanked his parents, Ed and Paula Kassig, for their support in the letter, which they say was received June 2. Kassig was previously known as Peter, but his family requested that he be identified as Abdul-Rahman due to his conversion to Islam.

Isn’t he a Muslim convert? Probably thought it would protect him. But Jihad John takes no prisoners and Obama’s staged opposition to IS is pathetic. They’re about to take Kobani
Look on the bright side: One less Muslim sympathiser!?!?
A lot of good his conversion has done for him.
I think that this fool is now realizing that he didn't make a difference during his life...and nobody cares about his death.
Yes, he is, but I still never understand why they think this matters to ISIS. If you do a terrorist bombing count, the largest number of bombings occurs in those countries where the majority of people are Muslim. Indonesia is almost totally Muslim, but look at the number of bombings there. It appears that, once Islam is established and runs the country, then they start fighting each other over sectarian rights of power. Stupid...
Perhaps if he were to renounce the psychotic death cult Islam and embrace the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ, he might not fear death so much.
His Muslim name will not save him. Muslims kill Muslims all the time. They are hate-filled murderers, “and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
It sounded like in a previous article I read that he may have converted because he changed his name to a Muslim-sounding one, but I offered up a little prayer for him anyway. Being afraid to die won’t sit well with Muslims, will only further fuel the fire of their demonic ire.
OK, JUST saw this story on FOX.
First, I think they said he “converted while imprisoned” - if I heard that right, I guess that means he was scared and hoped it would save him.
Second, and most disturbingly, was the woman I presume was his mother on the news film. She was wearing a scarf around her head! No word about them converting, but there she was like a babushka or one of those “mild” Moslem women with scarf draped down front shoulder/breast, up over head then under chin, then back same side to the rear shoulder/back.
What the hell????
Yes, he does deserve prayer regardless. Including prayer that he will convert to the correct and good religion.
The mother is wearing a burka? What’s that supposed to do, appease the terrorists?
Has begging ISIS terrorists for someone’s life ever worked?
Those terrorists are probably getting their jollies from people begging them and trying to dress for their approval.
Could you imagine a WWII family making a video with the mother dressed in a kimono begging the Japanese to be nice to their prisoner of war son?
If I thought it would save or even help my son from being beheaded, I’d wear one too. like that’s all it would take. snort. All muslims need to die, yes, ALL.
Maybe the won will trade 5 more enemy generals for him.
We see sectarian violence in every religion.
Just look at the warring Lutherans:Missouri synad against ELCA, etc.

We’re really rough.... we water-board our prisoners with beer and make them dance for our amusement in lederhosen.
I can't bring myself to pray for the one that I consider demonically evil. Things are possible, but I think even a good exorcist would have a hard time with it. We all know there is evil in the world, see it every day and sometimes experience it ourselves. But evil for the pleasure and power trip in it may be the worst kind of human evil.
Western civilization went through periods of what most of us would consider evil now. Beheading was used in punishments in places (King Charles I?) and the French Revolution.
Which is more evil the one who mans the guillotine or the lady sitting watching the theater of it while knitting? Obviously the one doing it but enough.
I've had enough personal evil for one day already.
