A woman who has been confined to her Dallas apartment under armed guard after a man infected with Ebola stayed at her home said she never imagined this could happen to her so far from disease-ravaged West Africa.

Louise Troh said Thursday that she is tired of being locked up and wants health authorities to decontaminate her home.

I may be wrong on this but I wonder since these people are illegals perhaps they told Duncan to come over to the US fast since he can get FREE medical care here. I believe the girkfriend knew he was exposed since he probably told her about what happen in the taxi. Just my theory. I bet someone sent money also to fly. Thank you Present Obola.

"This woman sent the kids to school this week KNOWING that there may be a possibility of them being infected. She took the chance of exposing all the other students in the 5 schools . Pretty stupid and reckless if you ask me."

-------------------------->

Man, if I had school-age kids, I'd take them out of this school. I may even take them out of any school - country wide.

Let's see: homeschool vs. possible Ebola infection at a government school.

“The fact is that if we tried to seal the border, it would not work because people are allowed to travel,” he (Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) said on “Good Morning America.” ”It would backfire because it would make it harder to stop the outbreak.”

Huh???

Not allowing the virus to spread beyond the hot zone would make it harder to stop the outbreak? How does that work? Is he stupid? Does he think we are stupid?

“They should have been under armed guard from the very first. These people are unbelievable....”

Too stupid to be stupid. Makes more sense to assume that the Obama Administration wants us infected.

Is this satire?

Can this woman from Liberia really have no clue of what is at stake here, or how much danger she and the others at her apartment are in, and how much they have put the entire country at risk?

This is unbelievable.

"...wants health authorities to decontaminate her home."

Sounds like a typical mooch with their hand out. Can't she clean and decontaminate the apartment herself? Give her some bleach, and bags for sheets and rugs then burn it.

If I was stuck in that contaminated place (how long has she already been in there, 2 or 3 days?), I'd be bleaching and bagging, instead of just sitting on my ass waiting to get infected or for someone else to do it.

BTW ... all action so far reg. the quarantine has been local. Local legislation is based on less serious hazards with the assumption that FEMA would have a plan for something of this magnitude.

Does any one object? I don’t.

==============================================

Early American Quarantines
When the United States was first established, little was done to prevent the importation of infectious diseases. Protection against imported diseases fell under local and state jurisdiction. Individual municipalities enacted a variety of quarantine regulations for arriving vessels.
State and local governments made sporadic attempts to impose quarantine requirements. Continued outbreaks of yellow fever finally prompted Congress to pass federal quarantine legislation in 1878. This legislation, while not conflicting with states' rights, paved the way for federal involvement in quarantine activities.

==============================================

Public Health Service Act
The Public Health Service Act of 1944 clearly established the federal government's quarantine authority for the first time. The act gave the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) responsibility for preventing the introduction, transmission, and spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the United States.

==============================================

I sure don't object!
I think that quarantines are ABSOLUTELY necessary. They have been around for a LONG time, even in our country. They will, no doubt, happen again, especially with our HUGE trade and tourist industries.

No use blaming a faith. I'm surprised that there aren't MORE of them, considering the 3rd world pit-holes we deal with and travel to.

My husband, mother and I even visited the Kenyan game parks 30+ years ago. We had to take a few shots but NOTHING compared to the shots we had to take to LIVE in Saudi Arabia (ARAMCO). Back then we had to take a malaria shot and we even need a POLIO booster. My husband and I were PIN CUSHIONS!

I HATE shots. Hate'em. Hate'em. Hate'em. Hate'em. I would have been a pathetic junkie. :o)

Nothing new here.

One more indicator that Frieden will be toast soon:

“The fact is that if we tried to seal the border, it would not work because people are allowed to travel,” he (Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) said on “Good Morning America.” ”It would backfire because it would make it harder to stop the outbreak.”

That kind of thing didn’t work out for Holder, for the HR pro that used to run the secret service, or for the recently deposed spokesman for Obama. This is Ebola, not immigration, or gun control. Deadly stuff.

He’s going to get run out of office.

A couple of weird observations:

Anybody hear from Valerie Jarrett lately? Also, does Obama have a Chief of Staff? Who is that person? It isn’t Jarrett, right? She’s some sort of special advisor, like a Rasputin, only the Sleestak version.

They say the danger is from contact with bodily fluids, so best to keep the possible carriers away from contact with other inmates and guards. In jail, they could be getting shanked or beaten (bleeding), raped, or be s*itting upon other people.

Americans are clean, clean, clean.
There WAS a day when "clean" was the purview of those who had indoor plumbing. I can't IMAGINE having to go out to the cold water pump, load the cold water indoors, heat it and then WAIT my turn to bathe in the same water as those 'ahead' of me.
Yuck.

The Ebola family sent their “quarantined” children to school and parents pulled their kids out of the school. That is the only reason the authorities saw the real need to lock them down.

They should have been under armed guard from the very first. These people are unbelievable....while they may never come down with it, if they did, they could cause the death of untold numbers of people.

I get the impression from other articles and Freeper posts that the apartment complex in question is "Little Liberia". Apparently it is a magnet for people from that region. Once it was known about the guy with Ebola, the CDC and authorities should have descended on the place. I'm not surprised these Liberians tried to leave, or sent their kids to school, or boarded a plane. They don't understand hygiene. Or diseases. At all. There were guys out there with pressure washeres cleaning up the ebola-infested vomit in the parking lot while wearing no protective suits and while spraying ebola droplets all over the place. Everybody in the complex should probably be put in some sort of quarantine safe house and the complex should probably be destroyed.

And we should stop letting ignorant, unhygienic, disease carrying third worlders into this country without thorough health screenings, if at all.

Has the CDC caught the same political correctness disease as the Secret Service? Are CDC statements on Ebola based on medical science or on politics?

This IS life and death and it's the DUTY and OBLIGATION of our POTUS and government to protect us.

This IS an invasion.

That page says she lives in Ecuador.

If this is the same person it seems likely that she is one of the illegals who came up from Central America within the last couple months.
