Texas Ebola patient’s partner and 3 family members quarantined
CNN ^ | October 2, 2014

(CNN) — The partner of Ebola patient Thomas Duncan is quarantined in her Dallas apartment where Duncan became sick with the virus after his trip to Liberia, the woman told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

The woman, who asked to be identified only by her first name, Louise, is quarantined with one of her children under 13 and two nephews in their 20s because they were in apartment when Duncan became ill, Cooper said.

Duncan, a 42-year-old Liberian citizen, is now hospitalized in Dallas.

But Louise remains in her apartment, and she’s worried, not knowing what to do and waiting on federal health officials, Cooper said.

“She doesn’t know how she’s going to get food into the apartment. She was told she said maybe the Red Cross would come by. She’s still waiting for that,” Cooper said.

“Some health officials brought sandwiches last night, but she hasn’t had anything today,” Cooper said Thursday. “She’s certainly kind of at loose ends and is obviously extremely worried.”

Cooper’s interview with Louise will air Thursday evening on CNN’s “AC360˚.”

It’s not just TX/OU weekend. Literally out her back door, is The State Fair which opened last weekend and runs for two weeks. Buses, and buses, and buses of school kids will be there next week for the free day just in time for noticable symptoms.

We are playing “Lets pretend!” right now. I fear it will continue till we have to many cases to manage.

Notice how the previous patients were placed in CDC sanctioned Level 4 Ebola units. THPH isn't one so the CDC dude now says any ol' hospital can handle these cases. Really? Then what's the purpose of wasting those b/millions of tax dollars building those super duper units, huh? He knows those 4 special hospitals are too few for what's coming.

Haven’t tried the freezing eggs, but the milk changed texture.

Eggs last a good while anyway, and the refrigerator shelf life can be improved by rubbing oil all around the shell. That way you can have the fried eggs. I have some dehydrated for scrambled.

Considering the way our government is with disaster relief, I'd say she's got a very good reason to be worried.

Leave it to our government to quarantine someone and fail to provide them with basics necessities.

But hey, aren't we constantly told that dying of starvation and dehydration are a *peaceful* and a *merciful* way to go?

I know we have been banging our heads on poles for too long and they don’t get it. Time probably to start banging their heads on poles. My dad always said “knock some sense into people.” LOL

I wouldn’t stand within three feet of that 360 boob and catch epizootis. My dad would say he’s got the ick and gom.

Me neither. I wouldn’t want to even be in the same building or in the same county for that matter.

Does she even know the definition of bodily fluids? His sheets are still on the bed? Did anyone else sleep on that bed? Did she not sleep on the bed with him at anytime during his stay?

I don’t mean to sound rude or snooty but just looks like something might crawl off him onto me if I stood close. Ewwwwwwwwwwww.

Not only that, they preserve it at temps that are significantly below zero. So I wouldn’t take much comfort in lower temps.

Now burning stuff and boiling stuff, apparently does work, IIRC.

don’t know how Dallas grocers work, but aren’t there grocers (like Walmart) that will deliver online orders?

Oh, Relax. My point was that she was TOTALLY unprepared for ANY emergency. And that’s just stupid.

As a workers comp case manager, I worked with clients all over the intellectual scale in various occupations-and IQ scores do not determine common sense or a lack of stupidity-those are learned skills...
Ignorance is the problem here-
(not IQ)???
O ghee ghosh golly, my daddy always said
“ you can’t fix stupid” and that sharp does not count “ a rat turd is sharp on both ends” Workers comp duppers definitely do possess that learned skill though at least we can agree here.

What if she tossed out the food instead of feeding it to her child for fear that it may have been contaminated by the Ebola patient who they’d just lived with for four days?

Would you feed your kid that food?

And a large part of my job was to bust the ones who tried to cheat so the employer and insurance company didn’t get screwed. The “smart” cheats were easier than the ones with low IQs to catch, because they overestimated their ability to scam people-they got busted quicker, and tried to cheat more often-that was conceit-a personality flaw, not a skill...
