President Obama largely blamed the United States intelligence community in an interview broadcast Sunday for giving an incorrect assessment of the capabilities of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria, Obama said on CBSs ""60 Minutes."
Obama said ISIS, also known as ISIL, went underground when United States forces fought al Qaeda in Iraq in the last decade.
That, along with Syrias civil war, allowed ISIS to regroup and recruit fighters from all over the world, including Europe, the United States, Australia and the Muslim world, Obama said in an excerpt from the interview. The full interview with Steve Kroft will air Sunday night.

Oh,yeah, someone else’s fault, as usual.
But, the decision to leave Iraq wide open without a residual force was Obama’s. It wasn’t Bush’s, it wasn’t the Joint Chiefs’, and it wasn’t really Maliki’s either.
Clapper is such a toad that he will probably confirm this tomorrow even though there are other reports that totally contradict this.
Hey, Jim Clapper. What does the underside of that bus
look like to you?
What a pathetic example of a man, the child Obama is.
I guess Clapper didn't want to be audited.
Oh, please. I believe President Bush warned him about such a disaster and, by all liberal accounts, Buch had no intelligence at all.
What buck?
intelligence Obama = oxymoron
Bammy misunderestimates his Islamic brothers.
“The buck stops here.” Harry S Truman
“What buck? I never saw a buck. The buck never got here. Bush must have taken the buck.” Barry H. Obama
He can’t even stop them in Oklahoma!
Intelligence failed us....Nope.....Obama failed us....intentionally!!! Obama lies again!!!
The Whitehouse really had better pull the interview from being aired. As usual, Obama’s usual mannerisms succeed in pissing off everyone involved in an issue. If he blames anyone other than himself, the backlash will be worse than the admitted failure which is as documented and obvious as the ears on the sides of his arrogant multinational head.
‘zackly.
The real problem is our muslim president.
The third string community organizer still doesn’t understand that you don’t publicly throw Langley and Ft. Meade under the bus without consequences.
But he soon shall.
