During the United Nations Climate Action Summit at the U.N. headquarters in New York City on Tuesday, Leonardo DiCaprio -- who was recently named the Messenger of Peace for the international organization -- told those in attendance that it's time to answer the greatest challenge of our existence on this planet.
You can make history or be vilified by it.
To be clear, this is not about just telling people to change their light bulbs or to buy a hybrid car, DiCaprio said. This disaster has grown beyond the choices that individuals make. This is now about our industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.

Dr. de crapio speaks. No one listens. So, leo, now that you have your PhD in physical science, you are able to make you demands known. Oh, you're just a concerned citizen. Well, a lot of us a concerned citizens too. Do we get a forum at the u.n. to state our concerns? Uh, no. So, where's your next speaking engagement? Will you have time to go cruising around on some sheiks yacht once you land in the private jet? I'm certain you'll buy some carbon offsets to ease your conscience. Sorry, I forgot that no conscience required when you're an amb-ass-ador for piece(of the action).

The UN is listening to De Caprio, and (I read in another thread) De Blasio? ROFL, but crying, too.
To: rktman
If thats true then I’m sure Mr De Caprio won’t be needing all that money he uses to do things like fly from New Zealand to Vegas to celebrate New Year’s Eve twice.

Do the people who spent money to see his films regret it by now?

From Hollywood?

Then these actors should stop making movies. It takes energy to make movies and people drive to watch them. Not to mention the carbon footprint of the places showing the movies and even the heat lamps for the popcorn.

DiCaprio, the same guy who owns a yacht that takes $300,000 worth of fossil fuel to fill up. The same guy who jets all over the world, owns multiple mansions and big cars is telling everybody else to reduce and eliminate globull warming.
Man these guys have gall.

Stuff a sock in it DiCaprio. I used to be a fan. Now you won’t be able to pay me to see another of your films.

Of course!
Not everyone can attempt to live this way or we’ll destroy the earth!
Such lifestyles have to be limited to a very few people.

Well DiCaprio you just killed your career by alienating at minimum half of your audience. Actors need to be actors and stay out of politics. No more DiCaprio movies for me. Most in the last few years have been pretty bad anyway. Django, The Great Gatsby, and Wolf on Wall Street is all you need to know. I’ll give him a pass on Django for his acting though Any man who cuts himself and bleeds on the set and keeps on doing scene gets a few extra points. But the concept of that movie... nah

Do as I say, peasants, not as I do. I am a famous Hollywood celebrity, just like a Kennedy, almost a god on earth so whatever I believe and profess that you damned better well follow has no bearing on whatever I believe or do.

In his defense, DiCarprio doesn't own this $400,000,000 yacht. He rents it from a Brunei oil sheik, and uses it to tool about South America, or the Caribbean, or the West Indies, from wherever port his private jet flies him to.
Meanwhile, he hopes congress will pass a law to raise taxes on home heating oil, so kids in the ghetto will have less money for food.
