Several advocates are changing their stance on Daniele Watts' incendiary Facebook post: "It's like crying wolf"
Civil rights leaders who initially defended Django Unchained actress Daniele Watts in her dispute with the Los Angeles Police Department are now calling on her to apologize.
Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable president Earl Ofari Hutchinson, Project Islamic Hope president Najee Ali and other activists held a press conference Friday, telling reporters that they now have doubts about Watts' side of the story.
"I was one that was very outspoken about it," Hutchinson said about having come to Watts' defense when her story first broke, as quoted by NBC 4. "We take racial profiling very seriously. It's not a play thing. It's not trivial."
Hutchinson wants Watts to apologize to the LAPD. He said that, based on photos taken that show Watts straddling boyfriend Brian James Lucas in a car, he now believes there was "provable cause for the detention." He added about Watts' Facebook post: "It's like crying wolf."

So far she’s refusing to do so. I think that cop was pretty cool. Nice looking too.
Yes sir, the bacon has reached cruising altitude!

Not to mention that she and her boyfriend are both fugly. I would have arrested them for public fugliness.
Give praise when praise is due. Good for them.
Maybe recording the entire thing changed some minds.. (including mine)...
Just cutting their losses on this one

If that was a crime you would have to arrest all of NOW and 90% of the remaining democrat party.
Turns out she was having sex in a parked car. A fact omitted in early reports. The police can ID you in such a case. She was in the wrong on this and made a publicity mess out of it.
I noticed EOH hasn’t yet offered an apology for his rush to judgement....
“made a publicity mess out of it”
That may have to do what the intent was. Bad publicity is better than no publicity.
Since I have never seen Django before this incident I could not have told you this person’s name. Oh wait...I still can’t.
He wants to avoid a Watts riot?
“She was in the wrong on this and made a publicity mess out of it.”
It’s more of that “Black Entitlement” thing. Just like Ferguson. “I get to break any law that’s not to my liking because someone who looked like me was a slave 150 years ago!”
takes a man of honor to admit when he is wrong
Yeah, mine too. The pictures were quite convincing.
You are most kind.
Now, I must learn from this (dang, I can never stop learning — when will I just be Master Po?)
But I ask for .005 karma points for presuming the troublemaker in the right. And standing on Constitutional Principles...
:)
In a car? Boinking her boyfriend? Or servicing a john?
This is satire right?
Not so much. If someone is so blatantly wrong and there’s video evidence to prove it he has to admit it to maintain even a shred of credibility.
