In the weeks and months after Trayvon Martin was killed, his mother saw 50 different photos painting him as a thug..
It was as if portraying the slain 17-year-old as something he wasn't — a muscle-bound, tattooed rapper, or a young man wearing his pants low and flipping middle fingers with each hand — somehow justified his death, Sybrina Fulton said.
"At first, I thought I was at fault myself. I thought maybe it was the hoodie," she said.
But Fulton said she soon came to realize that even in 2012, she didn't have to look to her son's sweatshirt or wonder whether he had minded his own business the night that white security guard George Zimmerman shot him.
"The ugly truth is he was murdered because of the color of his skin," Fulton said. "We have to say it because it's the only way we're going to get past it."
Fulton, of Miami, spoke Tuesday night at Lehigh University as part of a panel discussion on hip-hop music, the media and the criminalization of black youth.
The message was one of hope that young people of all colors in America can use the momentum created by Martin's death two years ago and the police shooting of another unarmed teen in Missouri this summer to end the disadvantages and dangers people of color face every day.
A vocal advocate of reforming gun laws such as Florida's Stand Your Ground Law, which Zimmerman invoked in the 2013 trial in which he was acquitted of Martin's murder, Fulton reflected on her visit to Ferguson, Mo., after 18-year-old Michael Brown was gunned down in the street by a police officer.
"I was dreading that trip, but I knew it was necessary for me to go," Fulton said....

She supposedly has a full time job with Miami-Dade government, but she travels more than an airline attendant, so I don’t know how she keeps that. Someone is funding her and her “former” Crips gang member ex-husband to go around to all these events. They didn’t make that much from that Sanford HOA.
Where to start. SYG wasn’t used in this case, just normal self defense as your head is being bashed into concrete by a larger person on top of you. Zimmerman isn’t white, he’s Hispanic, but that didn’t fit the narrative.

Uhhh, correct me if I am wrong, but IIRC, SYG was never part of the defense team’s case in the trial.
She is partly at fault herself. Did Lehigh pay to have this ghoul, making a living off her dead son, speak?
She is slandering George Zimmerman. He could sue her if he wanted.
What else would she be talking about . . . her failure as a mother and the state of families in the black community? Never, ever talk about family, oh no, even though it is the basis of society and without family there is no society.

My name was Antonio West. I was the 13-month old child who was shot in the face at point blank range by two black teens, who were attempting to rob my mother, who was also shot. I think my murder and my mommy’s wounding made the news for maybe a day, and then disappeared.
A Grand Jury of my mommy’s peers from Brunswick , Georgia ruled the black teens who murdered me will not face the death penalty... too bad it was me who got the death sentence from my killers instead, because Mommy didn’t have the money they demanded.
See, my family made the mistake of being white in a 73% non-white neighborhood, but my murder wasn’t ruled a ‘hate crime’. Oh, and President Obama didn’t take a single moment to acknowledge my murder. He couldn’t have any children who could possibly look like me - so why should he care? I’m one of the youngest murder victims in our great Nation’s history, but the media didn’t care to cover the story of my being killed in cold blood.
There isn’t a white equivalent of Al Sharpton, because if there was he would be branded a ‘racist’. So no one’s rushing to Brunswick , Georgia to demonstrate and demand ‘justice’ for me. There’s no ‘White Panther’ party, either, to put a bounty on the lives of the two black teens who murdered me. I have no voice, I have no representation, and unlike those who shot me in the face while I sat innocently in my stroller - I no longer have my life.
Isn’t this a great country, or what?
So while you’re out seeking ‘justice for Trayvon or Michael Brown’, please remember to seek ‘justice’ for me. Tell your friends about me, tell your families, get tee-shirts with my face on them, and make the world pay attention, just like you did for Trayvon and Michael Brown.
I won’t hold my breath. I don’t have to anymore.

I stopped reading at this point. The photos didn't "paint" him as anything....they accurately portrayed him as what he was. The photos explained why he would attack a citizen who was simply protecting his neighborhood. What the bullying thug didn't realize is that the citizen he was beating might be armed.
So it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he was pounding a man’s head into the sidewalk, it was because he was black.
How do they have the gall to just keep ignoring the attacks upon whites (or “honorary whites”) which bring defensive action upon them?

Zimmerman isn’t white, he’s Hispanic, but that didn’t fit the narrative.
...
To the media, counting Hispanics as non-white usually fits the narrative. But I know Hispanics who would be shocked to find out that they are non-white.
