Corruption? Hell, Nagin should have been tried for STUPIDITY!!

We had the busses but they forgot to hire the drivers!!!

Also if he got tried for stupidity then we would have to try ex-gov blanco and mary landrieu! All of which together couldn’t think their way out of a rain barrel.

” . . . Nagin should have been tried for STUPIDITY!!”

No need to hassle a good Democrat. Dubya was available for the blame game.
Moreover, a feckless governor, dawdling when she should have released the Louisiana Nat’l Guard to Bush’s operational command, thereby restricting his ability to render assistance, afforded opportunities to heap more blame on him than reason would dictate.

Put him on a road gang and let him do some honest work for a change.

Ray Ray is getting off easy. To the last he has been scamming and sucking off the public. He, wife and daughter( who must be a teen) have been getting foodstamps-over $300 a month! He’s ‘unemployed’! He should die in lockup. He criminally neglected his duties as Mayor during Katrina and people DIED because of it. He was a crying hysterical wreck in the hotel while the city drowned. Then, he decided to profit from the contracts being handed out to ‘rebuild’. The only thing that could make this better would be if Governor ‘BLANKO’ was in lockup with him. Those two were too interested in power and people died during-and after- the storm because of their ineptitude.

I'm surprised the Democrats didn't shuffle him off to some cushy sinecure for the rest of his days. I mean, considering the fantastic job he did helping out with their little Katrina Two Step, wherein (1) local and state governments do nothing to prepare for an oncoming hurricane, including neglecting to make an official request for federal help (a statutory requirement to receive federal help) and then (2) dump the whole problem on a Republican President, claiming he's doing nothing because he's a racist.

That little two-step was an integral part of Nancy Screwloosie becoming Speaker of the House after the 2006 midterm elections.

I would have thought that kind of cooperation would have gotten him a nice paycheck every month for the rest of his life, at some job where he didn't have to do anything.

Guess they only do that for white Democrats.

Some things never change.

No mention of party. If he was Republican, it would say “Former Republican mayor, Republican Ray Nagin, will begin serving a 10 year sentence, yet another Republican convicted of corruption. The Republican mayor joins the list of other Republicans in prison...”

Of course, in DNC parlance, this means he’s been promoted.

"Turned pro", he's now a made man.
