EPA would regulate most Md waters .
A new rule proposal by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ...
The proposed Waters of the United States rule, which would give the EPA jurisdiction over millions of miles of streams across the United States under the Clean Water Act, has generated bipartisan backlash in both chambers of Congress.
A letter to the EPA from Democratic and Republican House members stated, Although your agencies have maintained that the rule is narrow and clarifies CWA jurisdiction, it in face aggressively expands federal authority under the CWA while bypassing Congress and creating unnecessary ambiguity.
The letter goes on to say, The rule would place features such as ditches, ephemeral drainages, ponds (natural or man-made, prairie potholes, seeps, flood plains, and other occasionally or seasonally wet areas under federal control.

Maryland Ping Alert.
Ooohhhhh.....a letter. That always stops the tyrants. How about $0 for the EPA in the next budget. Money talks.
Well at least they’re apalled at something. This water/land grab by the Agenda 21 wing of the EPA is unconstitutional and un=American.
Good - stop them in their tracks NOW before it gets out of control.
That’s appalled.
continued government power grab to eradicate private property.
So the legislative body of our government has been reduced to that of a poor supplicant forced to plead against unconstitutional regulations and power grabs.
Yes, it is simple tyranny. These are the sorts of realities that prod me toward not voting, for voting increasingly serves to condone these criminal assaults on our liberty.
Time to terminate the EPA. They remind of some kind of Russian or “old” Soviet style organ.
Cut EPA’s budget by 90% and strike any rule they’ve written in the last 10 years.
The “R” running for MD Gov is running an ‘anti-campaign’.
One of his ads starts off asking “Who wants to leave MD” with several in the crowd raising their hand and the theme being ‘no one could afford to even leave MD’, and getting into saying ‘We even are trying to tax rainfall’ then goes on from there.
Of course, in typical Pol fashion, they have to lash out at the candidate etc....
I know what I don’t like about YOU or YOUR OPPONENT, show me what you are going to attempt to do once elected.
How on Earth does Romney expect any support this time around after the last election when he alienated R’s that may have switched and voted for him but in the process of getting the nomination his crew destroyed his opponents and their supporters.
If he would have continued the ‘scorched earth policy’ in the Election people may have listened to him but he seemed to lay down against BO.
I hate this state. Really hate it.
I submit the EPA is already out of control. The constant attempts to regulate the American people into environmental slavery is evidence enough. Coal fired power plants anyone?
Skyrocketing energy prices anyone?
Lack of a coherent national energy policy anyone?
Allowing a bureaucratic agency to run out of control with basically zero oversight from the Congress.
Allowing radical environmentalists to thwart use of God given resources for the benefit of mankind.
On and On it goes.
Heck if you are willing to go that far, just cut off the snakes head and be done with it.
Thanks They’re doing the same thing here in Wisconsin. Offered a presentation on it for one of the candidates running on the 3rd congressional (Van Doren) and it was ignored. That candidate lost, and is now running as an “independent”.
I’m going out and landscape the “ephemeral” body of water that has collected under my air conditioner.
[I wonder if I need a permit]
Defunding anything that’s in the Eternal (Continuing) Resolution causes a government shutdown. That’s apparently almost as bad as an Impeachment, politically and racially.
Of course guess who passed the Clean Water Act? Just like the they passed The National Service Bill which gives the govt the power to order all of us into involuntary service or the Farm safety Act which gives the govt the power over every aspect of farming even your backyard garden with no chance for judicial review. I blame Congress more than the EPA. Of course I also loathe the EPA and want to see it gone. Congress keeps passing these giant government power grabs and then seems shocked when the govt uses the power.
Waiting for the GOP to say something ... in any way at all. ... Waiting ... Waiting ... Waiting ... Crickets.
Thats Rich
No....we can’t set ourselves up for “Being against clear air and water”.
My plan requires a clear public message that we will maintain and protect clean air and water, while fighting the invention of problems where none exist.
