The man responsible for what the military called the Navys biggest betrayal is dead.
John Anthony Walker, the former Senior Warrant Officer from Norfolk who supplied the Soviets with damaging tactical and military data, died in federal prison on Thursday in Butner, North Carolina.
29 years ago, Walkers career as a spy came to an end in Norfolk Federal Court.

It’s a start. There’s still his son and Jerry Whitworth wasting oxygen.

Come to think of it, I’m surprised obama didn’t pardon him and award him some kind of medal for exemplary service to an America-hating Commie...and that would include Russia as well.

The article had nothing to say about how he died. Heart attack? Old age? Avenging spirits of American servicemen he screwed over?

The article had nothing to say about how he died. His Wiki article referenced Stage 4 throat cancer. FWIW.

OK so he was a retired chief warrant officer. Since his conviction took place in a civilian federal court I assume he collected his pension until he died?

Later, traitor. Enjoy hell.

I always hated that. The investigation revealed that he spied during his time on active duty, and even back to the Vietnam war. The UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) states that the penalty for spying in time of war is DEATH.
He should have been court marshalled and shot.
