There’s got to be a Darwin Award somewhere in this story.
9 YO’s never should have an automatic weapon in their little hands!
A .22 semiauto loaded one round at a time or .22 wheel gun will do for a starter for sure!
“Last Stop” for sure!
Because of that idiot instructor, this little girl will live the rest of her life with the guilt and nightmares for helping him win a well deserved Darwin Award.
On the upside, the girl is still alive and was not killed due to the instructor’s stupidity.
ok i have had guns my whole life and live in the ghetto i would not let a 9 year old girl or boy play with a fully loaded uzi . flame away
Don't mess with Hit Girl.
when i took friends along and trained them to shoot. they only got one bullet. my one freind who was a good shot, could never shoot more than one in the mag. all giddy from the shooting, he would wave the gun around after.
Looks like this isn’t the first time something like this has happened at a range:
“Christopher Bizilj | Its all legal & fun No permits or licenses required!!!!, read the Westfield Sportsmans Club October 2008 advertisement for their Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo. What was billed as a weekend of supervised family fun at this Westfield, Mass., gun range turned into a family nightmare when 8 year old Christopher Bizilj accidently shot himself in the head while firing an Uzi submachine gun. The boys father was supporting his son from behind as he started firing the weapon. As Bizilj pulled the trigger, the front end of the weapon went up with the backfire and he ended up receiving a round in his head, police Lt. Hipolito Nunez told the AP. In addition to his father, Bizilj was being supervised by one of the clubs certified instructors when he inflicted the lethal injury on himself. Edward Fleury, 53, Former Pelham, Mass., Police Chief and one of the show organizers, was charged involuntary manslaughter for allowing Bizilj access to the Uzi. Fleury was acquitted in January 2011.”
Did no one think it was a bad idea to give a little girl a machine gun to shoot? Apparently not.
Oh yeah, that what I was thinking reading this.... Real "professional"
What were these people thinking?
You don’t put that type of weapon in the hands of a little kid with live ammo. Hell even many adults need careful instruction and care before they should handle one.
The 9 year old was probably damaged for life, after seeing the help drop to the floor...Probably a head shot....Even uglier...
Who hands a nine year old girl an Uzi? How about a single shot .22 instead. This is very sad and gives the gun grabbing left ammo against responsible firearms owners.
Development Learning is part of Firearms Training.
Don’t these people keep up on current events? This has happened before. Does the range owner live under a rock? No 9 year old girl or boy should be discharging a fully automatic firearm.
9? 9 was BB gun age in saner times ... maybe .22 starting around then if proficiency had been proven with the BB gun.
There are some weapons that shouldn’t be used by children
