A consumer group is predicting a rush for powerful vacuum cleaners as an EU ban on many best-performing products looms.
Which? said that from September 1, companies will be unable to manufacture or import any vacuums with motors above 1,600 watts under rules designed to boost energy efficiency and tackle climate change.

shower heads and sink faucets too...
I have an illegal shower head. (I know I am an outlaw!) flows 3 gallons per minute.. I can shower and be done in 2 minutes if I want.. rinsing is not a problem :)
I de-gored my sink faucet too.. I got sick of waiting over a minute to fill the darn dog water dish.
They already did. directly to your wallet. They call it the IRS..
I drilled out the restrictor to increase the shower flow.
My son always comments on the quality of the shower when he comes to visit.
“My Electrolux 1401 Super J Canister manufactured in 1975 is as powerful today as it was then when it could suck chrome off a trailer hitch and at “only” 1200 watts’
One time in band camp...
Europe is about to become the Land of the Dirty Carpet.
The class war crowd really had it in for Richard Dyson apparently.
I have four dogs inside my carpeted house.
I must vacuum every other day.
My wife... God rest her soul... would vacuum almost everyday. We had a cheap vacuum from Walmart and she would spend an hour trying to get everything, back and forth. Well I bought us a $600 top model because I was tired of seeing her labor so much. It was the best they had.
She could get the whole thing done in ten minutes. That vacuum was one of her prized possessions.
Not if you eat as much mexican food as I do.
I no longer have to struggle to understand all this stupidity since I accepted the idea that ‘IDIOCRACY’ is actually a doumentary of current conditions projected to the logical conclusion.
Dirty homes are somehow green?
People will just have to use the vacuum twice as long. Like the low water toilets that have to be flushed twice.
Funny lol
Wow, this sucks...
Put a picture of Obama on it and now it sucks again.
Just hire Bill Clinton, he has a nose like a Hoover.
For hotels this means importing more third world maids. More union workers means more socialist voters. After a third world family moves to the first world their carbon footprint/energy use/consumption/trash output jumps by an order of magnitude.
I got all the carpet out of the house years ago and steadfastly refuse to ever have wall to wall carpet again. Very small throwrugs only, they can be taken outside to beat them and air out in the sun and replaced easily. I won’t even have a large area rug, just something that can be picked up easily with one hand. No one has ever invented a way to clean wall to wall carpet and any one who has ever removed it from a room knows that. It traps all kinds of dirt and if you have any kind of problem with allergies it is the last thing you need. It costs too much in too many ways to be able to walk around barefoot in the wintertime in your house. I can wear some bedroom slippers with a fuzzy lining instead. The only clean floor is a hard floor. The only way to clean a carpeted floor with a vacuum is to have one strong enough to suck the whole carpet into the vacuum cleaner and throw it away.
Climate change... Is there anything it can’t do?
Ever notice that hippie environmentalists smell bad? They seem to equate uncleanness with environmental sainthood.
+1
high capacity “assault” bags
