Congressional investigators say the Pentagon violated the law when it swapped five Taliban leaders for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was held prisoner in Afghanistan for five years.

The nonpartisan Government Accountability Office says the Defense Department's failure to notify the relevant congressional committees at least 30 days in advance of the exchange broke the law.

Law be damned. The order came, FROM THE TOP, to proceed with the swap post haste. The Department of Defense is not going to pay any more attention to the whims of Congress than the EPA or the IRS, what with all the decent officers being forced out and the “politically correct” incompetents being rushed in to fill the vacancies. Those officers know to whom they owe their “promotions”.
