HENDERSON, Ky. Mitch McConnell has a game plan to confront President Barack Obama with a stark choice next year: Accept bills reining in the administrations policies or veto them and risk a government shutdown.
In an extensive interview here, the typically reserved McConnell laid out his clearest thinking yet of how he would lead the Senate if Republicans gain control of the chamber. The emerging strategy: Attach riders to spending bills that would limit Obama policies on everything from the environment to health care, consider using an arcane budget tactic to circumvent Democratic filibusters and force the president to move to the center if he wants to get any new legislation through Congress.
In short, its a recipe for a confrontational end to the Obama presidency.
Were going to pass spending bills, and theyre going to have a lot of restrictions on the activities of the bureaucracy, McConnell said in an interview aboard his campaign bus traveling through Western Kentucky coal country. Thats something he wont like, but that will be done. I guarantee it.
McConnell is facing one of the toughest reelection battles of his three-decade Senate career. But Republicans are tantalizingly close to winning majorities in both houses of Congress for the first time in nearly a decade, and McConnell is making an aggressive pitch to voters here that they have the chance to pick the Senates next majority leader.

YOU LIE!
Oh, please!
Government shutdown is a winner for 0bummer and its sycophants.
A more formidable threat would be swift impeachment.
The messaging failure in the GOP are amazing. Don’t talk process. Talk impact on people. Their whole talking points should be that Washington has reached a new level of dysfunction ever since Obama arrived. Say he doesn’t know how to work with others, or just refuses to. Say, in the majority, we’re going to reign in the out of control bureaucracy he’s running that are creating laws instead of following them. Talk about the the pain of higher prices, lost jobs, and tepid growth as a result. Say, we’re looking for the majority to address these issues, and Obama won’t like sharing power, but he’s not doing any good with his ‘my way or the highway’ approach.
Well, what do you expect from liberals who collude with the Dems?
So McConnell wants a second act in America. Where was he when Ted Cruz was carrying the flag? The same forces will be arrayed against McConnell's proposal as were arrayed against Ted Cruz when McConnell went belly up. The media will still be against the tactic and the country will never fully understand what is happening because people like McConnell do not prepare the ground, cannot deliver the message, have sold out to K St. and have an interest only in pretense.
Translation: Capitulate and claim they are governing from the middle.
Pssst, Mitch, I have some bad news for you, you aren’t going to take the Senate, you feckless dog.
Those who talk, talk. Those who can, do.
Ha Ha Ha Ha. McConnell is a funny man now. This is pure comedy. Nobody who has been paying attention will believe this fairy tale.
McConnell reminds me of a drunk sitting on the bar stool telling anyone who will listen what he’s “going to” do and all his great plans. Everyone knows that none of them will happen.
As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words. The Romneybots will be on in 3...2...1...
Pay no attention to what I do, trust only what I say.
Apparently it works every time!
