Question to Fellow Freepers!
Vanity ^

Posted on 08/15/2014 8:28:38 PM PDT by Boomer

OKAY. It's obvious this is another Tom Delay type witch hunt. My question isn't really if there is any validity to this. It's more about if it will actually work this time against Gov. Perry or will it (hopefully) backfire and shine a big bright light on the corruption that is the Dem party today. Your feedback is much appreciated... Oh, and if "they" can be allowed to get away with this, shouldn't the same thing happen to the two most corrupt gov employees we have right now? Obama and Holder. I'm hoping if we all break out our new $5 LED flashlights together we can shine enough light on the corruption that is Washington DC.

Since “Abuse of Power “ is the legal charge of the day, why not charge Obama and AG “Contempt of Congress” Holder with ABUSES of Power?

Okay, thanks for the background. That is quite reasoned.

So you can now be indicted for politically supporting one or another position???? What’s next, thought crimes?

He should stay bold. There is nothing to be gained at this point in bashful timidity. Not that Perry is likely ever to be bashful in the presence of his enemies.

I mean, if that’s the rule now, I bet half of Democratic politicians could be summarily executed just for their policy positions!

After her cozy ride to the station where she was three times the legal limit...

...DA Rosemary Lemberg had to be cuffed because she was violent and she had to be put in a mask to stop her from spitting on officers.

What used to be a rule of law is now a rule of judges. It might knock him out of a 2016 run.

“Just when you think they can’t sink any lower; they do. ..”

Plus, they keep getting away with it. It is these corrupt leftists who should be in prison.

“Complaining about a problem without proposing a solution is called whining...”

Local news reported that the Public Integrity Unit was investigating Perry.
They also reported that the legislature had already approved the funding for the PIU.

The talking head opined that where Perry made a mistake was by threatening to veto first. That can be taken as coercion.

To answer your question...yes it should happen to the corrupt politicians at the federal level (there are more than two). But it won’t.

I would like to believe that this won’t be the DeLay syndrome...but it could well be. Even if not...since he is making noises like he running for president...it could well be a nail in the coffin.

And I don’t think it will be the Dems doing the hammering...it will be other Pub contenders. jmho.

The case has no merit. I can’t believe they found a grand jury full of idiots that would go for this. Perry isn’t running for gov. again, so this mostly seems like spite to me.

“All she has to do is resign and he will reinstate the funding.”

Local news reported that a judge said she can legally keep her job.

Well here’s the thing, speaking as a former Prosecutor. Do let me say first that of course I believe this is politically motivated. But IF they can prove Perry made the threat and then vetoed the Bill for that reason, it is a crime per the Statute.

Now there are other issues like is the Statute even constitutional or is it over broad? Does the State constitutional right to veto win the day?

All of these are issue that will play out. Personally, I think the constitutional right to veto will win the day. But do the facts suggest he violated the Statutes? Yes.

That is correct. No Judge unless a witness refuses to answer questions, something like that.

And yes. We used the Grand Jury to bypass the prelim all the time.

Well, Perry is no threat to anyone or to get the nomination but I think there is little question this is politically motivated.

I can’t believe they found a grand jury full of idiots that would go for this.

Austin is Moonbat Central. Recall that a Travis County grand jury indicted Tom Delay for a crime which didn't exist.
