The Republican governor is accused of abusing his official powers by publicly promising to veto $7.5 million for the state public integrity unit at the Travis County District Attorney's office. He was indicted by an Austin grand jury Friday.

Sounds like a Prosecutor needs to be indicted for abuse of power.
I smell BS.
what the story behind the Huchntion indictment was she going to run vs. Richards?
Yep!
It’s now splashed all over drudge for the world to see that that the DA is a lush. I don’t think the Dems thought this one through.
... and it took YEARS. Perry has been gaining traction on the illegal alien issue. The strategy is to discredit him and slow him down. Not even sure this is about 2016 as much as it is about attacking any resistance to their desire to get illegals legalized
When that creep Ronnie Earle retired, I thought we were done with that nonsense. I’d be ashamed to carry the water for the rat party if I were serving on those grand juries. They’re apparently very LOW info voters or useful idiots or both.
I linked to an old thread ONLY reported on FR. Travis county das are elected by liberal idiots.

Don't you mean dingleberry?
But hey, if dingleberry works who am I to argue otherwise?
Nothing but good can come out of obviously trumped up charges. Rick Perry will gain 5-8% on every poll for GOP front runners for 2016
Ping to #13
He has the same old line...Bring me what I want or I'll veto it.
Does this mean the president is about to be indicted by the justice department.
I have it on good authority that Grand Juries are kept in “kennels” in Travis County so as to be readily available for “setting the dogs” on the DA’s selected victim.
Egad!...but not surprising!
Libs will do anything to win...ANYthing. And the sooner we really understand that the sooner we’ll learn how to do [almost] anything to counter them.
The Dems don’t want Perry to run.....like they’re going to go after him hot and heavy. Notice that there are no polls with him and Hillary.
See here where drunk Travis County DA Lehmberg caught on police dash cam footage.

No one’s perfect.
I was a perry fan since 07.
And this only reinforces my support. I just hope the purists realize what’s in store for their preferred candidate.
Rick took the lead on the border crisis, then grained national popularity, and had to be slapped down.
The good news is if they’re firing at you, you’re over the target.
GO RICK!!!
A Travis County grand jury Friday indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two charges related to his
effort last year to force District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her
drunken driving arrest.
Grand jurors charged Perry, 64, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony,
and coercion of a public servant, a third-degree felony. The first charge carries a
punishment of 5-99 years and a fine of up to $10,000. The second charge is punishable
by 2-10 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
The indictment stems from Perrys threat last summer to withhold $7.2 million in state
money from Lehmbergs office unless she step down a threat he later carried out
by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget.
