The Republican governor is accused of abusing his official powers by publicly promising to veto $7.5 million for the state public integrity unit at the Travis County District Attorney's office. He was indicted by an Austin grand jury Friday.

They indicted him because he vetoed the funds for the Travis County DA after she was arrested for DUI and public intoxication. Not sure how that is public corruption or abuse of office...

Doesn’t the House have a rule that if a member is indicted for anything they must step down? Or is that just a Republican rule?

Before they did the same crap to Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Seems they drum up a persecution (intentional spelling) against any powerful Republican they can.
