Do not tell those who had “NDE’s” or “Near Death Experiences”.
All I can say is that I only can hope that Mr. Williams made peace with God before he died.
I leave his judgement to God.
Amen!
Of COURSE we do!
HE has access to ALL of the available data.
We humans tend to check to see if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck - we assume it's a duck; and not an actor in an Aflac spokesbird suit.
Yes, I can see that too now that you mention it..
The sad clown.
And with an actor/comedian its hard to tell if its their real selves or not until something like this.
“...undercurrent of sadness...”
I sort of see that too now, behind the manic facade.
Depression is a horrible illness, and when fueld by booze and drugs, it’s worse.
Glad to hear you got the fix. We need as many people here as possible who have a bit of wisdom. It is in(very) short supply these days.
Sounds like he was trying to convince himself...
Ironically depression draws those who have it to alcohol and drugs to numb the pain short term but more than not makes them feel even worse. Its call ‘self medication’.
Alcohol is a depressant.
A few of the commenter's nasty comments on this thread here are low class in poor taste.
I didn't find Williams that entertaining myself but he was a human being who did make others feel better and deserves better than those hateful wretches spit

Extremely poor taste. And people that profess themselves “Christian” at that. Christ would be soooo pleased with the display of compassion, I’m sure.
Robins was a damaged soul - just like every single one of us. We ALL take damage in the course of our passage through life; some deal with it better than others.
God alone judges a person’s soul. No one else.
Pavarotti... the man had a VOICE, good lord....
What a beautiful post re. Mr. Williams. All I can say is I always thought he had sad eyes. All the laughter he caused, all joy he projected seemed to be something he collected and dispensed but never took in. He gave happiness he rarely felt. That’s a tragedy of a singular, personal nature. It is doubly tragic that he had the money and resources to combat his problems but couldn’t do it. Did the doctors fail him, or did medication just not work? Then I think of those who are battling this with so much less help and it’s a wonder anyone triumphs over it.
I’m just sorry someone who’s mask of happiness finally failed to protect him decided that the life he’d used to brighten the world for so many was overcome by the darkness.

The man suffered from mental illness for maybe 40 years. No reason to trash him. Low class for sure.
Thank you.
Low class Indeed...
A lot of that lately.
How about leaving that for our Father to judge? He may have at his last breath. WE just don't know this about this malefactor. And besides, it is still possible that he never heard the truth of God's word which would mean that he would have a shot at eternal life in the Millennium age. One thing for sure about this, his vulgarness will not survive.
Dittos. It was one of the few movies which did well portray the thinking of those who die outside of faith in Christ.
I was very surprised of the news.
I hope the reports we hear don’t fully report the actual events, regarding his eternal destiny. I also observe he manifest quite a bit of thinking which discounted God’s Plan for him and the rest of humanity. Perhaps we know very little of his real thinking.
Robin Williams did not grow up in a military family. His father was a senior exec. in the automotive business. The basis for his comedy was to cheer up his parents; it was an instinctual addition to the day -— the workload for the brass at the Big Three being substantial. Robin’s mother laughed more easily than his father. It was a joy for Robin to see his father’s occasional laugh. One of those occasions, Robin never forgot: it was during a comedy skit by Jonathan Winters that Robin and Robin’s father were watching together.
