No big surprise here but Politico is now reporting that Chuck Todd will probably be replacing David Gregory as host of Meet The Press. It was almost inevitable that NBC News would be ousting Gregory due to the terrible ratings of that Sunday news show while he was hosting. The only question was who was going to replace Gregory and it now seems to be confirmed that the widely acknowledged leading candidate is going to be Todd.
The big question now is if Chuck Todd can put aside his liberal reflexes and provide the Meet The Press audience with some surprises as Tim Russert did or will he follow in the footsteps of David Gregory and treat his job like its purpose is primarily to play defense for the Democrats. Of course, the latter course would be a guarantee of remaining in Meet The Press ratings oblivion. In the meantime, let us read the Politico report which is sure to make Chris Matthews turn green with envy:

who really cares?
Do people still watch these shows?
Well in my area since NFL start up pretty soon they probably put Meet the depress on at 4am in the morning when nobody be watching
I guess they are aiming for the Zero Ratings target......................
One jack-booted leftist for another jack-botted leftist. Big deal.
"Meet The Presstitutes".
Bold move, trading one mindless progressive shill for another.
Chuck’s contract stipulates he can keep his 1995 goatee. His goatee will have a separate dressing room as well.
Well, apparently a few creeps watch these shows.. Gluttons for punishment that they are, it invigorates them..
Ever since the palm incident, tho, wellll, it has lost some of its street credit.
Damn spillchikker
FReepers watch. Not creeps !!
To paraphrase the Left, NBC is just replacing one boring, middle-aged, extreme-Liberal white guy with another.
These shows just allow the beneficiaries of government to advertise their thanks to the powers that be; ADM and such.
The truth hurts, eh Chucky? How big is yours David?
I haven’t watched this show in decades.
If these Liberal TV producers really want ratings, they should hire a more sparkling personality, like Debbie Wasserman Schultz. As much as I disagree with her on everything, dull and boring, she aint! Even Carlos Danger would be better than trading Parkay for Blue Bonnet like they’re planning to do.
And with F. Chuck Todd in the anchor chair, they will reach that goal.
Incidentally, it is possible to achieve a “zero” rating with something other than the test pattern on the air. Back in the mid-1970s, WNBC-TV was struggling mightily to attract viewers for its local newscasts—that’s one reason that Tom Snyder and the old “Tomorrow” show moved from Burbank to New York, so Snyder could anchor the 6 pm news on Channel 4, in addition to hosting his talk show.
Just before Snyder arrived, WNBC’s early evening newscast pulled an asterisk in the Nielsen ratings, which equated to “no measurable audience.” Wonder how long it will take Chuck Todd to pull the same feat with “Meet the Press.”
Second week............
Kettle. Frying pan.
I will enjoy not watching Chuck Todd almost as much as I enjoyed not watching David Gregory who can speak French.
