The Yazidis, members of an ancient religious sect, fled when the Islamic State overran their homes. Now theyre trapped with no food or water. Will the U.S. step in to help save them?
One week is as long as the average person can survive without water. In extreme temperatures, it may be less. So time is running out for the 10,000 to 40,000 Iraqis, mostly religious minorities, who have been trapped for days in barren mountains without food or water. They face a choice: return to their towns captured by ISIS forces and risk being slaughtered or stay in the mountains and slowly die of thirst.
On Thursday, the White House signaled that U.S. might reverse its current policy by getting directly involved in Iraq to halt the worsening crisis. So far, the American forces stationed nearby have been little more than observers to the conflict.
According to the New York Times, President Obama is considering authorizing emregency airdrops of food and water for the thousands of Iraqis still stranded in the mountains. Additionally, according to the Times' source, the President could approve airstrikes against ISIS forces that are surrounding the Sinjar mountains.
The slow-motion massacre of the Yazidis, members of a small, ancient religious community who escaped to the mountains along with other groups after ISIS overran their towns, began with a military defeat for the Kurds, one of the closest U.S. allies in the region. The Kurds losses, and the subsequent plight of the Yazidis, call into question what role, if any, America is willing to play in Iraq.

What do they expect the US troops to do, fight Obama’s allies?
I do not want to waste more US lives and treasure in this sh*thole, but I would not at all mind bombing the living snot out of the ISIS homocidal lunatic freaks surrounding that mountain.
When you’re out in the open fields, you’re pretty much dead meat for the AK-47s that ISIS has. I have a bad feeling that they won’t have much difficulty getting top dog on the food drops, too.
They’re slaughtering Christians. I want to bomb ISIS off the face of the earth.
And if we don’t deal with them now, we surely will later.
I guess it depends on their ‘commander in chief’.
Seriously, these clowns have been killing themselves for millennia.
Let’s get out of the way and let them get to it.
At the same time, I wouldn’t allow any of those diseased souls into our country. Let them drink their oil.
We’d be better off spending $10.00 a gallon for fuel than to keep putting up with thier crap.
There was a concept back in the 50’s and 60’s called Fortress America. We simply would hole up and be tremendously strong to militarily protect ourselves.
Of cours, the left, the one-worlders, and the industrialists immediately discredited, through their control of the media, the idea.
Maybe time to reconsider.
(But, what do I know? I’m just an Odinist.)
If this ISIS situation gets any worse, Obama is going to miss a golf game.
Dang, the Kurds lost battles to ISIS? I thought there were motivated and competent.

I feel terrible about the abuse of these Zoroastrians.
But what about the tens of thousands of followers of Jesus Christ who have been driven from their homes, abused, raped, killed?
When will their plight be recognized in the international press? When will Obama talk about helping them? Or even acknowledge them by name and demand that their persecution stop?
Exactly. I didn’t realize they were Zoastrians, but now that I do. I pray they have a chance to know the Messiah before they die.

Will Iraqi Troops Stand By While ISIS Starves Thousands?
Will Iraqi civilians that had no problem fighting US troops Stand By While ISIS Starves Thousands?
NYTimes reporting we have made several air strikes in Northern Iraq, The Pentagon is denying.
As I understand it the Kurds moved out of settlements which were in a militarily untenable position.
They do seem to be competent. They are (however) low on ammo.
I wish it were that easy. Unfortunately, they will get stronger, get more lethal weapons and will continue to target the west with increasing lethality. If our next president is a democRAT or Rand Paul, it will be more of the same.
Here’s the problem.
Times change. Yamamoto’s statement is over 70 years old.
While you and I, and thousands of others, would gun up to oppose any invasion, I’m afraid our own government would shoot us in the back.
I’d do it anyway.
At one point we’re going to have to go ‘Roman’ on these vermin.
