I know what you mean. I live in a very rural area, no neighbors within a half mile except in one direction. Actually none in several miles in some directions.
I still like living in the country but now that I am getting old and most of my family in this area are now deceased, I probably would rather live in a small town.
I have considered moving to be near my Daughter but that is not doable right now.

Ha ha Ha!
It says the perfect city for me is Miami (30 miles away) and i NEVER go there, except to cut through on the way to the Keys.

Do you take the turnpike to bypass the area?

When I camped in Kendall for the weekend to hear my favorite string quartet play in Palmetto Bay, I took the turnpike. I’d never go through Miami proper.

Been to almost all the top 30 population cities and the majority of the top 100. Each have something well worth seeing, dining at, or doing but I wouldn’t want to live permanently in any of them.
To: SkyDancer
Good job! Are ya there yet? I’ve been watching the countdown but lost track. :)

Except that Honolulu is surrounded by breathtaking mountains.
Miami has a landfill or two but the rest of it is a t sea level! LOL!

Monterey, Calif is my favorite. Went to Army Language School there in late 50s. Lived off base in Carmel Highlands, near Big Sur. Nice.
