Still, I suspect compared to the overall population, the numbers are miniscule. They just congregate in certain areas where a) they can get media access and/or b) they happen to find others like them. (NYC, SF, Provincetown)
The only reason the Times is reporting this is try to convince more people to go queer.
They’re appalled that people aren’t jumping in, so they’re trying to “stop the hate”.
Not admitting that it’s a tiny minority of psychologically damaged people.

It's also well-known, but not disclosed here, that many young women self-identify as a lesbian or bisexual at some time between ages 18 and 30 but then eventually marry and have children with a male spouse.
Every sit-com and drama on TV now has at least one gay character.

Working as an actor some 30 years ago in a touring theater company, the cast went out for a few cocktails.
Sitting at the bar, the producer who was gay, put his hand on my thigh.
This being my first lead role I didn't want to insult him. Especially because he signed the paychecks.
I gingerely lifted his hand off my leg and told him I was a flaming heterosexual.
Later that year, when the run was over, I nailed his younger sister. In his house!

For obvious reasons, Big Lib Media has an agenda in making seem there’s far more homosexuals than there are. For many years ten percent was the number quoted. Just think about it. If it actually were ten percent, wouldn’t average people have known about it?
The fact is, you don't need a study to know that 2-3% is much closer to reality than 10%. Personal experience with people will suffice. I can believe that in a random sample of 100 people, two or three are homosexual or some other sort of sexual deviant. I know that the number isn't going to be ten or more.
