As it has for decades, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week released its annual National Health Interview Survey on the health of Americans. But this year, there was a difference: For the first time, the respondents were asked about their sexual orientation.
Of 34,557 adults ages 18 and older, the survey reported, 1.6 percent said they were gay or lesbian. Some critics say the numbers are low, but they fall in the range of other surveys. In the new survey, however, only 0.7 percent of respondents described themselves as bisexual; other studies have reported higher numbers.

I think it’s 12 % that are black, but not according to commercials.
Bet a dollar to a donut that 1.3 percent of those only THINK they are gay and/or lesbian because it's "the next big thing" right now and they love the celebrity status it brings. Everybody wants to be a "victim" these days.

A higher percentage of Americans are felons than are homosexual.
Then why do the rest of us (98.4% normal ones), have to Kowtow to them on everything?
This is ridiculous. What makes anyone believe that someone who IS gay or lesbian would answer truthfully?
Still, I suspect compared to the overall population, the numbers are miniscule. They just congregate in certain areas where a) they can get media access and/or b) they happen to find others like them. (NYC, SF, Provincetown)
They congregate in jobs where they recruit children
The only reason the Times is reporting this is try to convince more people to go queer.
They’re appalled that people aren’t jumping in, so they’re trying to “stop the hate”.
Not admitting that it’s a tiny minority of psychologically damaged people.
It probably is, at the New York Times.

It's also well-known, but not disclosed here, that many young women self-identify as a lesbian or bisexual at some time between ages 18 and 30 but then eventually marry and have children with a male spouse.
And they are the ones that are heavily represented with HIV/AIDs.

Every sit-com and drama on TV now has at least one gay character.
If space aliens were to suddenly pick up our TV signals they’d think we’re all gay.................
Especially ABC....................
