He’ll be fired. We’ve reached a point in which what one says carries more weight than what one does. If he’d killed somebody, or killed a bunch of dogs, he’d still be OK. But he said something “wrong” and must be eliminated.

I’ve known Tony very well for a long time. Wonderful man. These last two days haven’t helped my blood pressure.

We’ll see what Tony is made of in the next day or so. He can certainly clarify and restate his position to be clear, or he backs off it and accepts the radical’s premise.

Dungy isn't getting any criticism from me, nor will he get much from the players, if any. However, the sports networks are media and are just as leftist as the regular news media.

Does Dungy care? I doubt it. He knows Who holds the future in His hand.

Today, Rush has been claiming that ESPN (Dungy’s employer) hasn't put anything about this story on its website. However, it's on Mike Wells’ NFLNation blog (and not behind some paywall). Hey, Rush: the ESPN search function still works.

Michael Sam may not be a distraction this week at...

and, yet, you (the author) is writing an article about him.

It’s such an innocuous statement and is clearly based on Dungy’s observation of the high drama surrounding Sam to date. While Dungy will likely be fired legally from a crony capitalist business, it has the moral sanction of the government and Obama behind it. Effectively freedom of speech has been eliminated.

Tony - tell those idiots to take a hike. Do not apologize for telling the truth. That is why this nation is in such a mess.

Dungy was clear that it wasn’t because of his personal feelings about Sam being gay. It had to do with the distraction to the team that will come with all of it and the potential harm it could have for the team.

That type of distraction simply isn’t worth a player that may not be good enough to make the team.

It’s only a story because he’s gay. The same statement could be (and WAS) made often about Tim Tebow. A solid player that could be a serviceable back up - but who came with such distractions that it wasn’t worth having him on the roster.

Ask Rex Ryan or Bill Belichek.

Every team avoids drafting players with various personal problems because they don’t want to carry the baggage ... Don’t forget too that 32 teams passed up on Sam six times before the Rams decided to select him.

I also love Olberman’s comment. What an idiot. If these people had ever coached a football team they would understand EASILY what Dungy means and it doesn’t have to be an NFL team to make that clear.

They stand on the sidelines and critize - literally. The people the loudest are always the ones involved the least with the process and that goes the same for parents who never volunteer to help or coach.

Of course Sam the man would be a distraction. This is how homos roll, especially when encouraged by the media. It's not so much about "breaking down barriers" it's all about *ATTRACTING ATTENTION TO THEMSELVES* LOOK AT ME I'M DIFFERENT, YOU SEE! I wonder how Black people feel when Jackie Robinson's accomplishments are inevitably compared to Sam's? The gay rights movement has a long history of "piggybacking" on the Civil Rights movement.

I’m sure lurking DU’ers, etc. will call me a hater, but I do wonder if Sam would have been drafted at all sans the hype about him being gay? Sam had a fine college career, but his ability to play at the NFL level is questionable. He lacks size, speed, and according to some scouting reports, the strength and toughness to play DE or OLB. Deacon Jones, this guy ain’t.

At the end of the day, either a guy can play at the pro level, or he can’t. I’m just not sure Sam can.

I've written off the NFL for this season (at least), and will not be watching any games, nor participating in fantasy football.

My reasons:?

1) Michael Sam, but then not Michael Sam, in and of himself. I could care less whether he's gay or not. My only question is whether or not he's capable of playing football at the appropriate level. BUT, when the NFL stepped in a squashed the Dolphins player who dared to tweet "Horrible" in response to Michael Sam's on-screen draft-day kiss, I said enough is enough. The NFL does not get to dictate the narrative, and "diversity" is appreciating all sides of the debate (or so I've been told).

2. The Redskins debacle -- The league allowing this nonsense to go on and failure to support Daniel Snyder in keeping the Redskins name is atrocious. Again, "diversity" is respecting all sides of the debate.

3. General thuggery -- Every offseason, we have to endure any number of players involved in all sorts of crimes, from the idiotic to the outright violent. And yet the league allows this nonsense to go on, and still promotes their "stars". Criminal acts seldom get more than a slap on the wrist by the league, and frankly, I'm just tired of it.

“I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it.”

Tony Dungy is a Superbowl winning coach and from what I am able to learn a good person.

If there is anyone honest on the Rams I would bet they regret drafting Sam and having to “deal with all of it.”

Sam brought his own camera crew to the Rams locker room and attracts unwanted media attention. The Rams must feel that drafting this super high maintenance player of marginal ability was a mistake.

However, it is a safe bet that none of them will ever say so on camera.

Seems to me that the idiotic reaction to Dungy’s statements is all the proof he needs to prove that he was correct. As expected, the perverts in the enemedia circle the wagons to protect the sodomite...

Just like you would stay away from Tebow and Johnny Football. Too much drama surrounding them. Who wants to answer questions and spend time discussing stuff that is not football related.

Not questioning any of their talents. Just their baggage.

Tony is one of the most wonderful Christian men in America. He was a friend to his players in need and showed Christ to the needy. It’s not surprising that a loser like Obermann would trash him!

The left will use a two pronged attack. First will be the race card to make unfair and outrageous claims. The second will be to take the radical LGBT agenda to the max.
Let it be known to Tony or anyone else who defies them the media will come down on you with a ton of bricks
Remember the lesser of two evils is “still evil”
I recall one coach saying he would not hire Tebow because it would be a distraction with the media circus. But that story kind of went by the wayside.
Unless you walk in lock step with the left you will be ostracized and criticized
