Speaking to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Albuquerque in 2001, George W. Bush declared that, as Mexico was a friend and neighbor, Its so important for us to tear down our barriers and walls that might separate Mexico from the United States.
Bush succeeded. And during his tenure, millions from Mexico exploited his magnanimity to violate our laws, trample upon our sovereignty, walk into our country and remain here.
In 2007, supported by John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Barack Obama, Bush backed amnesty for the 12 million people who had entered America illegally.
The nation thundered no. And Congress sustained the nation.
The latest mass border crossing by scores of thousands of tots, teenagers and toughs from Central America has killed amnesty in 2014, and probably for the duration of the Obama presidency.
Will protests of illegals by U.S. cities make a difference? Sound off in the WND Poll.
Indeed, with the massive media coverage of the crisis on the border, immigration, legal and illegal, and what it portends for our future, could become the decisive issue of 2014 and 2016.
But it needs to be put in a larger context. For this issue is about more than whether the Chamber of Commerce gets amnesty for its members who have been exploiting cheap illegal labor.
The real issue: Will America remain one nation, or are we are on the road to Balkanization and the breakup of America into ethnic enclaves? For, as Ronald Reagan said, a nation that cannot control its borders isnt really a nation anymore.

Christianity is in decline. Traditional churches are sundering over moral issues like abortion and same-sex marriage. Islam is surging.
Our society seems to be disintegrating. Over 40 percent of all births now are illegitimate. Among Hispanics, the figure is 52 percent. Among African-Americans, 73 percent."
No one in America will escape this decent into the abyss. No one.
Sorry. My sorrow and anger is reflected in my bad spelling.
I agree. We should change the name of the United States of America to the Land of A Bunch of Wackyass, Piece of the Pie Eating Tribes.
It’s 2014, and Buchanan is campaigning against George W. Bush. Wake me up if anything changes.
We are already two Americas. One believes in the individual and the other believes in the government.
It’s not hard to imagine that the next nation we go to war with will be Mexico.
After all, they’re doing a good silent war on us now.
It’ll be tough - conducting both CW-II against DC and also the southern border.
At least cutting the east off from power and resources won’t be that big of a problem.
Buchanan gets it wrong on Israel, but always gets it right on Illegal Aliens, Open Borders, and Free Trade
GW Bush was just as bad on Illegal Alienism as Obama. Bush didn’t let kids enter en masse, but did try to give Illegal Aliens full Social Security benefits after 18 months of work (Americans must have at least 120 months of work full time). And, of course, he pushed the North American Union nonsense
I share your outrage. The first obligation of any government is to secure a border. Job 1: defend the perimeter. Obama has not only refused to do this most basic function he has prompted an invasion. If this is not an impeachable offense then no crime can ever lead to the removal of a president. Bush likewise should have been impeached. Pray that the next president has the moral courage to round ‘em up and send ‘em home. Highly unlikely at this point.. We’re most likely doomed. America as founded is a dead letter.
(But he rides a mountain bike and visits veterans. So now he's OK.)
Makes one wonder why the lame-stream media supports their own coming demise.
What I see on the horizon (not necessarily in this order):
- US Dollar removed as Reserve Currency, followed by total economic collapse
- Riots when Federal checks stop flowing
- America's southern border completely erased
- Martial Law declared
- Private gun ownership declared completely illegal in name of security
- Islamic Caliphate established (Jordan falls next, followed by Egypt and Turkey)
- Massive war by Islamic nations against Israel
- Possible nuclear exchange
- Rise of global-type government under new international charismatic leader (won't immediately appear to be dictatorship, would be declared Kingdoms at first)
“A republic, if you can keep it”. (Benjamin Franklin) it seems we’ve pretty much lost it.
Perhaps before the last one: The rapture of the true Church of believers, folllowed by the revelation of the Antichrist and the beginning of the tribulation period.
“We are already two Americas. One believes in the individual and the other believes in the government.”

And a third America that doesn’t have a clue what you are even talking about.
Its 2014, and Buchanan is campaigning against George W. Bush. Wake me up if anything changes.
Wake you up? You’ve been asleep if you haven’t seen Buchanan criticize Bush
The parade where W was marching and carrying/waving a Mexican flag spoke volumes.
W never wanted to build a fence.
W gave us comrade obamatollah.
W was a despicable traitor!
Let’s just agree that we have a bigger problem than George W., right now.
Lets just agree that we have a bigger problem than George W., right now.
Let’s agree that some of these problems were helped along by George W. and his father.
No one in America will escape this descent into the abyss. No one.
Makes one wonder why the lame-stream media supports their own coming demise.
I hope the bastards suffer more than most. And they will.
