I've read all the Kenneth Roberts historical novels. Spencer Tracy played him when "Northwest Passage" was made into a big budget Technicolor film in the late Thirties.
He was a hero in the French and Indian War, but picked the Loyalist side in the Revolution. He was a guerilla fighter, a man ahead of his time, and his behavior didn't sit well with the British, who wanted to fight like gentlemen.

Well, if I am ever in your area, you shall have to take me to that amazing place! :)
FL is one of the states my son, who just retired from the AF, is thinking about moving to. He lived there twice before. Once his freshman year at college...at Embry-Riddle, and another when he was stationed at Patrick AFB. I loved visiting.
He went through 4 hurricanes in one year when he was there. They just rode them out. LOL!

Prayers of peace, Liberty, as your wife goes home to God's house.
She is whole again and without pain.
Prayers of peace for you and and your family.

Simcoe ended up replacing Rogers at the Queen’s Rangers. He had a distinguished career in Canada after the war.

I have seen that Tracy movie! I can’t imagine why he picked the Loyalist side, he was such a rebel about most everything! He was a master strategist!

that must have been 2005. I rode out four that year as well.
Hey..here is something ELSE wild and weird that happened today. (I think the LORD gave me a wonderful day to make up for having to play my electric bass through a lightening storm on Sunday)
Just this evening, I reported at the gate of a guarded community to teach a music lesson to one of the residents. I showed my license, and was about to be waved in, when I noticed the guards open-carry.
S & W? I asked.
The guard immediately lit up like someone who was greeting a long lost relative. A huge smile beamed across his ebony face in an expression of sheer joy, as he said You know about that?
I laughed and gave him a smile and a thumbs up.
I cant imagine the crap he must get from the rich, stuck-up, anti-gun liberals whom he is sworn to protect. His joy at my affirmation of his lovely weapon was positively electric.
PS
I am an old white lady. LOL.

I would be delighted to take you there, and you can look at all the cool pictures on the walls of our favorite people.
Now if we could just get Ted and Sarah to visit, it would be complete! :-)
