WASHINGTON — The stormy aftermath of Mississippi’s Republican Senate runoff has sent Tea Party conservatives around the country to the ramparts, raising the prospect of a prolonged battle that holds the potential to depress conservative turnout in November in Mississippi — and possibly beyond.
The campaign of State Senator Chris McDaniel has formally filed a legal notice that it intends to contest the results of the June 24 runoff against Senator Thad Cochran, a six-term incumbent. At least two lawsuits from McDaniel allies are in the works, one demanding the release of election records, the other accusing Mississippi authorities of culpability in the suicide of a Mississippi Tea Party leader on June 27.
The turmoil has given Mr. Cochran’s Democratic challenger, former Representative Travis Childers, an opening to exploit the divide in what is otherwise seen as a race in which he trails badly. “Senator Cochran does not have the confidence of his state, let alone his own party,” Mr. Childers said.
Perhaps more worrisome to Washington Republicans is that if conservative outrage in Mississippi spreads, some Tea Party voters in other states where the Republican establishment’s candidate has prevailed could stay home in November. That could bolster Democrats like Kay Hagan in North Carolina, Mark Pryor in Arkansas, Mark Begich in Alaska or Michelle Nunn in Georgia.
“Oh, we are watching. We are furious. The G.O.P. wants us to sit down, shut up and vote for their RINO,” Jane Bilello, chairwoman of the Asheville Tea Party in North Carolina, said, using the acronym for Republican in Name Only. “We are putting our foot down, and until the Republicans learn this lesson, they’re going to continue to lose elections.”

Let's just say the very unlikely happens and the Repubs do win six seats and take over with a 51-49 edge. GOP-e types like McCain and his mini-me in SC, along with some other GOP senators won't support removal from office. Who among the democrats will make up the difference in order to meet that two-thirds majority needed for removal from office?
It's a great idea when those smeared can be convinced to vote for "the lesser of two evils".
We've done that for a few decades now, and what we have is a Cochran campaign, among others, that have been pure evil.

We don't have the Senate if the 'pub majority is controlled by the likes of McCain, McConnell, Cornyn, Flake, Ayotte, Murkowski, Collins...the list goes on. They would actually scare me as a majority.
With the irrefutable truth as our ally, the case for impeachment might be easier than you think and with control of the Senate, we will have an easier time gathering the irrefutable truth. The truth is a powerful thing when exposed for all to see.
It’s actually worse when nominal republicans are in charge of the Senate, because then we don’t resist them as much, because they’re “our” party.
Harry Reid and his ilk scare me more. Our agenda is not advanced in any way by allowing liberal progressives to control the senate.
No doubt at all. From their perspective they do better as a minority. They can vote for clotures to shut conservatives down and then vote the other way claiming they are conservative.
I read yesterday Heritage is getting ready to start tracking cloture votes and include it as part of conservative ratings. That’s good news.
If we don't get the constitutional conservative agenda in place, the nation will not survive in its present form. Our survival will depend on regional, state and local govs. I'd just as soon let the dems have the majority of the US Senate and an HOR which actually takes back the power of the purse.
RINOs are worse, far worse than the dems. The dems are more honest about their nation-destroying agenda, which RINOs have supported after promising us what we want to here come campaign time.
We will no way impeach Obama with the current leadership. Taking the senate means the RINOs have to go. They are the enemy. The minority leader wants to punch us in the nose. Buy a clue.
Yes, the irrefutable truth is indeed out there... but you're dealing with a gaggle of liberals who would run their firstborn through a shredder before going against the wishes of their party.

So it is not surprising to see that group push progressive ideology and suppress facts that favor conservatives.
No Democrat President will ever get removed from office!
Especially when that democrat is the first black in the white hut.
The important thing to remember is that there is a finite number of RINOs in the leadership. And each time one of them is knocked off, by *any* means, it is a body blow to the GOP-e. Every election there are fewer of them.
Having a constituency that is limited to multinational corporations with no loyalty to America, their vulnerability is marked when it comes to turning out voters. Sure, they might put $10 million in advertisements on television, but it might not get them a single vote.
They have been “running on fumes” for a while now. Their “vote for a RINO or a Democrat wins” strategy is falling apart, for the simple reason that a RINO, standing behind a conservative while holding a treacherous knife in his hand, is a *greater* threat to conservatism than are the damned Democrats.
If we can just purge those swine from the Republican leadership, we can finally kick seven bells out of the Democrats, and tear down a hundred years of progressive failure, without always having to watch our backs.
The RINOs don’t have enough left to sustain significant losses. It is a war of attrition with them, and one the conservatives *will* win, sooner or later. And when we do, the RINOs and their allies will be first up on the chopping block.
“Don’t *even* show up at the RNC, because we no longer have a chair for you. Just go ahead and curse us from the media gallery. And as far as your multinational corporate allies go, maybe they are not so “too big to fail” after all.
The GOP grassroots is better off with gridlock than a Senate that’s led by Liberal Republicans in Washington.

Romney was the last time I held my nose and pulled the lever for the GOP. (You might remember that the GOP-e was quick to blame conservatives who stayed at home for their boy’s loss.)
Going forward, my vote has to be earned.
Never happen - they need 66 votes to find him guilty after impeachment. If they aren’t assured of the 66 they won’t impeach. They won’t get the 66 even if they win every election...which they won’t.
