On Wednesdays The OReilly Factor, conservative talker Laura Ingraham made a bold call on how to confront problem of immigration in the United States, in particular regarding the flow of illegal aliens through the U.S. southern border.

Damn right. It’s way past time even if it has to come to use of force and violence.
We need to be debating the NUMBER.
How many refugee children are we going to allow, just because they can travel to the Arizona, NM, CA, Texas line?
Start out with multiple choice:
A. 100 per year is OK, by Presidential or Congressional “pardon”
B. 1,000 per year is OK
C. 100,000 per year is OK
D. 1 million per year is OK
E. 10 million per year is OK
F. 100 million per year is OK
G. No limit
This is a question of degree, not concept. We always allowed refugees, and not without assimilation problems.
Could someone tell me where it was originally written that just because you were born here, you are automatically entitled to American citizenship? It seems like this has been the source of much of our immigration problems. It seems like no one wants to revisit this basic policy. Why not?

Birthright Citizenship should never have been allowed to morph into this. Wasn’t even close to the intent.
And abolish immediately the “birthright tourist” BS that’s going on. Shame on the USA for letting foreigners game the immigration system.
There's the rub. The Republican Party will not stand for meaningful sanctions against businesses for hiring illegals. There are too many important interest groups within the GOP who have become dependent upon illegal aliens and cheap wages. Just look around and see who is getting all the jobs now - at your favorite restaurants, at hotels, at golf courses, at health care facilities, at the car wash, at the auto body shops, at the construction sites, etc., etc., etc.
If they can't find work, they won't come. Everyone knows that. Employment is the key. Employers must be punished. Notice how even Laura is careful to say that criminal sanctions should only be available for "successive violations." The GOP is not going to go after employers in any meaningful way because important supporters are addicted to cheap illegal labor.
The Democrats want illegals here for their votes. The Republican party wants them here for their cheap labor.
THAT'S WHY THEY'RE HERE AND THAT'S WHY NEITHER PARTY EVER DOES ANYTHING TO CHANGE THE STATUS QUO.
US v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898) started the ball rolling. Wong Kim Ark was born in the US to parents who could not, according to international treaty, become US citizens, but who were domiciled in the US.
Plyler v. Doe (1982) pretty much cemented it, finding that a child born to parents in the US illegally is entitled to public education.
I think Wong Kim Ark was wrongly decided, but as Wikipedia says, it's now legal dogma that anybody born in the US is a US citizen. Period.
If we fine employers $10,000 for every illegal employed No exceptions.
We built a fence. If democrats say it won't work, we petition to have the fence around the White House taken down.
We STOP allowing anchor babies. If your parents are from a foreign country - and you're born here - you're NOT a citizen.
We NEVER grant citizenship to people who break the law to get here. Never.
Illegals can't 'wait in line' here... because there IS NO LINE FOR illegals. If they didn't come here legally they're NOT welcome.
If we refuse welfare and food stamps... only offer emergency food until they can be returned to their country of origin.
If we insist our Representatives represent US and not their big fat donors... There are hundreds of other things we can do... this is a partial list... Then we don't have to ‘do’ anything... they'll go home or just stay home in the first place.
Duh, and it’s easy. Arrest a few employers, frogmarch a couple professional couples with Honduran nannies, require e-verify, and lease some buses. Out in 60 days? You get to keep your stuff.

The open borders crowd cites the 14th Amendment: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
But this amendment was intended to protect freed slaves. Its framers never dreamed it would be used to grant citizenship to the children of people who sneak into, or even invade, the USA. If Bin Laden were to parachute a pregnant wife into this country before she gave birth, the kid would NOT be a citizen.
