On yesterdays mission, we were standing a flag line to the entrance of the cemetery waiting on the arrival of the coach.
This young man, or should I say, Patriot, was skateboarding down the opposite side of the road. He saw all the flags and just had to check it out. He crossed the highway and came up to Peacekeeper to inquire about all the hub-bub. After Paul Anderson explained what we were doing, Paul invited Andrew to join us which he seemed genuinely exited to do. Andrew stood next to me so I offered him my flag. I explained the simple instructions and he then stood quietly, in the afternoon heat and waited with the rest of us.
After the PGR escort and coach arrived, we all mounted up and escorted the procession to the back of the cemetery for a final flag line seen in my cover photo above.
I was surprised to see that Andrew skated after us and stood for out Hero again.
We were all so touched by this young mans enthusiasm and respect. After completion of the mission, Peacekeeper called a hasty briefing to welcome the newest member of the SoCal Patriot Guard Riders, Andrew, along with our secret initiation and presentation of a First Timer Dog Tag and Mission Tag with our Hero's name, rank and image on it.
The words said to Andrew by Paul when presented with the tags. "These are for you. You can wear them or display them any way you like. You can wear them to school too if you like. Don't let them tell you that you can't. If you have any problems, you have my card, call ME!"
Welcome Andrew! I am so proud to have met you and had the opportunity to stand by you. Your maturity and grace has left me humbled.
Thanks for that. Made my day. God bless the PGR and Andrew.
Not all skaterats are RATs. Props to Andrew and the Patriot Guard Riders.
Thank You
I have really been losing faith in our Youngsters lately. I needed this boost!

What a great story and what a great young man.
This is the real United States of America.
There may be hope for some of the Young Ones after all PING!
Indeed. We need more like him.
