If some pundits want to make a case that the Tea Party is dead, or dying, they might want to check with the New York Times. The paper of record rightly points out that in the people's house, not only are conservatives and conservatism alive and well, they are actually "ascendant."
But while the Senate passed a bill a year ago with some Republican support, there was no urgency to follow suit in the House, where conservatives dominate and the Tea Party is ascendant. In announcing the action, Mr. Obama signaled that he is increasingly willing to act unilaterally to carry out elements of his agenda that are stalled on Capitol Hill, even as he faces Republican criticism for his use of executive power.
It might also be prudent for Republicans intent on running against Barack Obama in the mid-terms to acknowledge that it's conservatives and the Tea Party that are standing up to his damaging policies, as opposed to what purports to be the republican leadership in D.C.
If the president insists on enacting amnesty by executive order, said Representative Lamar Smith, a Republican from Texas who has been among the most active in opposing overhaul legislation in the House, he will undoubtedly face a lawsuit and will find himself, once again, on the wrong side of the Constitution and the law. The Homeland Security secretary, Jeh Johnson, in McAllen, Tex., on Monday after visiting a Border Patrol station crowded with recently apprehended migrants, said 150 Border Patrol agents would be moved immediately from other parts of the country to the Rio Grande Valley. He said other Homeland Security officers and Justice Department officials, including immigration judges, were also being reassigned.

Didn’t some guy write an obituary about the tea party a couple of days ago?
I guess I’m kinda liking the idea of living rent free in their heads like this.
Obama;s super ego will cause him to overstep his authority to the extent that even the weak spined congress will have to rein him in with an Impeachment action. He is truly running wild now as is his entire administration, especially the Just Us department.
gee, I thought the Tea Party was dead....................................

To the general public who now polls 65% that lays the blame for the border surge directly on Obama, the NYT’s attempt at narrative building is an exploding cigar.
Truth is that the Tea Party is just a whole lot of Americans of all stripes that do not want what Obama is doing. The left tries hard to group them, but they know the number is great and the majority called Tea Party by them, attend no meetings.
They are the relatively non loud majority who have very few in the Government that represent them.
Thing is, they are pushing back against this Unconstitutional government that is in place.
One of the Mayors of a CA. town suggested residents protest or some such thing about illegals being flown into his town.
It’s all well and good until it hits your own door step.
Send them to San Francisco
The Tea Party is either going to succeed in pulling the GOP to the right, or it will become a party in it’s own right as the GOPe quietly withers away.
The Dems will continue moving in a hard-core Socialist direction and will continue to look more and more like a European Labour Party.
No end to the polarization is in sight.
GOPe is the road kill on the yellow line in the middle of the highway.
See my book at the website in my tagline if you want more detail on that very idea.
This proves that Patriotism STILL survives!
Thank God for the Tea Party!
I abhor the sight of that. Would like to see the GOPe relegated to just off the shoulder, off the pavement, in the weeds.
Did the NYT really refer to “amnesty” or did you change the headline? The NYT is not normally that open with the truth.
What is the liberal headline this week?
The only way the Gang of 8 bill or something like it gets passed is if the House passes any immigration legislation that could then be used as a Trojan horse to get the Gang of 8 bill or something like it passed out of conference. And beware of the lame duck session of Congress even if the Reps win the Senate.

Opposition to illegal immigration is a basic view held by most Americans (like “gay marriage”), who no longer buy the lies that there are any benefits to illegals being here (or even legal immigrants under the H-1B program). By trying to lump such notions with the TEA Party (an anti-tax group), the masters of the lie that control our media (and sway political discourse and culture with it) are attempting to both marginalize the TEA Party (their enemies as opponents to socialism/Bolshevism) while making opposition to ANY immigration as politically incorrect/socially unacceptable as opposition to “gay marriage”.
They have made great strides in a few short years; opponents of “gay marriage” have to tiptoe on eggshells, and now opponents of immigration will have to as well.

It’s been one a week for the last two years.
