Hobby Lobby's objection on religious grounds to paying for abortion-causing contraceptives for its employees reminds Eugene Robinson of segregationists who cited the Bible in support of their views. In his great magnimity, Robinson allowed that the Hobby Lobby case "is perhaps a bit different." But if the WaPo columnist didn't think the segregation analogy was relevant, he presumably wouldn't have cited it in the first place on today's Morning Joe.
There was also a point of light on the show. Donny Deutsch, after announcing that he was "far from a conservative," nevertheless went on to make the explicitly free-market argument that "nobody is forcing anybody to work at Hobby Lobby."

Hobby Lobby sort of reminds Eugene Robinson of segregationists. Ping to Today show list.
The foolish Kermit The Frog-voiced editorialist.
My husband and I do “Eugene Robinson talk” for ten minutes after he makes one of his ridiculous appearances.
Liberals are only interested in their morals or lack of morals and enforce them with Nazi zeal.
So, Eugene is saying that objecting to being forced to provide free contraceptives and abortifacients to other is morally the same and buying and selling human flesh. And we’re supposed to take these people seriously?
Not so. Hobby Lobby buys slaves and forces them to work for peanuts. They have overseers in the aisles and slave shacks out back. Ever wonder where all that yarn they have came from?
Donny Deutsch ... nevertheless went on to make the explicitly free-market argument that “nobody is forcing anybody to work at Hobby Lobby.”
After years of trying, I still haven’t been able to get a liberal to tell me why one person should be forced to pay for the birth control of another.
LOL, good one.
Idiot.
We are talking about BEHAVIOR, NOT ANCESTRY!
IDIOT!
So they won't have to pay for the abortions of Democrat children, is the only thing in their frame of reference.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Hobby Lobby doesn’t object to all forms of mandated reproductive rights outlined in ObamaCare. They object only to those which cause an abortion.
I have yet to see a single media outlet make this point. I have to wonder why.
Because pointing out real facts shows the left as the idiots they are.
What an embarrassment to black folk!
Yup.
I *have*, however, seen a good number of them make the point that Hobby Lobby "prevents their workers from getting birth control", which is a complete pantload. No one said that they couldn't have it....just that HL wasn't going to pay for it.
The country has entered an era of decadence and decline. The opinion of this bizarre fool can only be given a platform in this sad environment.
I don't blame Eugene so much, the race issue continues to "work" because we allow it to.
But seriously, must EVERYTHING be a race issue?
Birth control is “defensible”, abortion much less so.
So, they conflate the two to make it seem like those who object to forcing a company to provide abortifacients is denying their employees access to birth control.
