I wretched at the one. The other thing that annoyed me was it made no sense. "Our inlaws" is a nonsensical phrase. It's impossible for somebody to be inlaws to both halves of a "married" couple.

The flood metaphor really goes straight back to the passage in Isaiah (ch. 28) about the covenant with death. Use lies as a refuge and be washed away by them. It doesn't say that exactly but the concept is here:

There is a profound parallel to the mark/image/name/number in the introduction pages of this book. It can be found on pgs. 10-12 in the "look inside" preview.
It may seem pretty "out there" but not really. It is more or less (and I am not doing it justice here) equating wisdom, understanding and knowledge to the parts or layers of a book. Creation itself. That is, there is its form/structure, its name, and the story it tells. This also explains the structure of the book, which breaks down and describes each letter of the alef-beit by its form (shape of the letter), name, and number (numeric value, the abstract value, "to think or calculate").
That the beast is forming lies and attempting to create something out of nothing (a new reality) is nothing short of an attempt to usurp the throne and authority of God and destroy and remake the whole of His creation. An image in the form/name/number of the beast. No wonder the place is becoming more like Sodom every day. A fabulous, perverted disasterville.

Much in that book is hard to grasp (and I've owned it for over 15 years), but time has surely drawn out its wisdom. It is noteworthy that in the above verse, the missing elements are knowledge and name, and those are paired together in the Alef-Beit book. Wisdom is equated with calculation, and understanding with form. Direct parallels in that verse.
