If a certain fecal matter had been the only instance of disrepute revealed from within the ranks of the Environmental Protection Agency today, that would have been more than enough; alas… it wasn’t.

(snip)

The environmental agency is having trouble locating emails belonging to a former agency employee and pulling information from his crashed hard drive, House members revealed Wednesday while questioning Administrator Gina McCarthy at a hearing on complaints of mismanagement.

“What is it with bureaucrats and public employees … the hard drives crash?” asked Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-Mich.).

He and others on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee questioned McCarthy about missing information related to the committee’s investigation into the potential environmental impact of a proposed gold and copper mine in the Bristol Bay watershed in Alaska. McCarthy kept insisting throughout the hearing that “we’re having trouble getting information off of it and are trying different ways”...

If it was official business there’s a good chance there are email CC and BCC distributions that may appear on other drives within the department, as well as the original recipient, whoever it was.

If the “crashed” hard drive still exists, a forensic examination would show what caused it to crash and when.

If the drive does not exist, but every other drive in the Agency has been preserved, that would be proof of a willing effort to destroy evidence.

Either way, somebody is going to be in a lot of trouble.

I may harbor contempt for certain members of congress but not of “congress”. For congress is the voice of the people... we lose that, we lose all. So hold your nose for the stinky ones and support those who are trying to bring light onto the corruption.

I will not ever hold my nose for stinky ones again.

And in congress, they all stink.

You can hold your nose if you want to, I’m not going to.

That is exactly how we have lost all already.

How many emails is the equivalent of 12 minutes of lost tape?

So if they (an agency) has failed to do so, those who are accountable for the data/information should already be changing clothes... You know, orange IS the new black...

Failure to do his work is not a crime. It is a cause for dismissal - but that's nothing, compared to conviction of many influential people.

At most one can allege criminal conspiracy and obstruction of justice... but those charges also need proof. If all interested parties clam up, there isn't much that the law can do - assuming that the law is interested in doing anything.

No, I read your post just fine, and I understood it just fine.

I think it is you who failed to comprehend my post, so here let me bold it for you so that the words might penetrate better:

I will not ever hold my nose for stinky ones again. And in congress, they all stink. You can hold your nose if you want to, I’m not going to. That is exactly how we have lost all already.

Comprehend that, drone, because I swear before God that I am done with the stinking GOP.

In the days of the Roman Republic, when the “Ceasars” became emperors, this is what happened. Soon the Senate was nothing but a status symbol, they had no real responsibility. the exact same thing is happening here.
