Washington (CNN) - Expanding his IRS investigation by more than two decades, House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa, R-California, has sent a subpoena to the Federal Elections Commission for all communications involving former IRS administrator Lois Lerner from January 1, 1986 to the present day.
This new search is the broadest-yet for records in a year-long investigation by Issa and congressional Republicans, who are trying to assess why the agency targeted tea party and other political groups for extra scrutiny.

Federal officials can’t be tried for state crimes?
The reason I ask this is because what Norm has said is true: under the status quo all the “resistance” is just WWE-style theater. They “let” so-and-so win this round and then The Crusher comes and blah blah blah. It’s to keep us all chewing our cuds watching the theater while the boa coils silently around the nation’s neck.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Unless and until we find a method to stop crooks in high places, all we will ever have is a stinkin’ cesspool.
One of the checks and balances to the federal government is the STATES. Federal bigwigs are NOT immune to prosecution by the States. Heck, Ronnie Earl made a business out of trumping up fake charges for political purposes. If he can do that then why the heck can’t the States do it for REAL crimes that have been committed? At some point the state AG’s need to protect their citizens from the WORST “scams” - Washington DC’s orc armies in agencies all over the country including in every STATE.
I’ve been saying for a very long time that the failure of LAW ENFORCEMENT has resulted in a “Dark Knight” situation here in the USA. A lot of that is because law enforcement has become politicized out of meaning anything, and the cockroaches are running wild, knowing nobody has the guts to ever expose and exterminate them. That is a SYSTEMIC problem, and it is killing this nation.

A fundraising effort has started to help pay the legal bills of former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner.
On May 7th, the House of Representatives approved a contempt citation against Lois G. Lerner, former Director, Exempt Organizations, Internal Revenue Service, for “refusal to comply with a subpoena duly issued by the Committee on Oversight & Government Reform.” Lerner handled matters relating to the tax-exempt status of organizations.
This week’s fundraising letter was addressed to former employees of the Federal Election Commission, where Lerner worked prior to the Internal Revenue Service. The letter, states, in part:
“We are quite concerned about the heavy financial burden (not to mention the psychological burden) these partisan actions have imposed on Lois. She has lost her job, been subjected to death threats, and has been forced to incur significant costs in retaining legal counsel. Hence, we’ve decided that we must do what we can to help her. Clearly, we cannot get Lois her job back or stop the hate mail. However, we can reach out to others to seek help in defraying her legal defense expenses.”
The letter was signed by two former employees of the Commission.

They want power. Political power, which translates to the power to punish others and make them suffer.

I think J Christian Adams has mentioned some instances where Holder obstructed justice regarding people in various States.
If the crimes happening in DC is what protects these jerks from being prosecuted, then it’s all the more reason to take up Ben Sasse’s idea: move the Capitol into Podunk City, Fly-over Country. Make each agency be housed in a different State, so that every agency is prosecutable by a state AG if they commit crimes against the people.
What really needs to happen to Obama and his co-conspirators to destroy this country is http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3172101/posts?page=62#62 . It’s far more gracious than what Obama claims the right to do, but I think it’s Constitutionally sound.
Here’s what I wrote in response to Obama’s justification for killing anybody he calls an “enemy combatant” (which he alone gets to define) without due process or ANY checks and balances to his power. I said this after taking Obama’s arguments to their natural conclusions, showing that the military could name Obama an enemy combatant and some LtCol could give the combat order to have a drone kill him. But though that’s what Obama’s reasoning allows, it’s not what SHOULD happen. This is what should happen, based on Obama himself doing - his whole adult life - everything that would get somebody else named an “enemy combatant” (arming, training, funding, hiding, collaborating with, comforting, providing material aid, propagandizing, etc on behalf of groups who are sworn to destroy the USA):
“Just a reminder: I am the one who is saying that if a US citizen is an enemy combatant but not in the act of attacking, he should be detained by the military and be given due process, including the penalty for treason.
The military should be no “respecter of persons” when it comes to enemy action; a threat is a threat, and an enemy in the White House is even more dangerous than one in an Afghanistan village so having the position of CINC should not SHELTER him from detainment but should make it all the more critical.”
Yes and then they appeal to the Federal Court and they’re out of the congressional jail in a New York minute.
