It’s just so confusing. Do you feed your kids bologna sandwiches or pieces of wet cardboard? Can you give them PlayDoh on a dead mackerel?
Modern grads of Ivy League colleges don’t have the time to figure all this stuff out. That’s why there are government bureaucrats who tell schools what to feed kids so they don’t die of cardboard overdose.
And there’s Michelle Obama who spends more time obsessed with what your kids eat than most major food conglomerates.
In an interview with MSN.com, First Lady Michelle Obama explained she used to struggle to feed her kids righteven though she received an education from Harvard and Princeton.
Before coming to the White House, I struggled, as a working parent with a traveling, busy husband, to figure out how to feed my kids healthy, and I didnt get it right, she explained, sharing a story about her childrens doctor who pulled her aside to talk about her family diet.
Also she struggled with grammar because Harvard and Princeton failed her in two ways. But these days she has a huge staff to help her figure out how to feed her kids and get them jobs working for Steven Spielberg.
I thought to myself, if a Princeton and Harvard-educated professional woman doesnt know how to adequately feed her kids, then what are other parents going through who dont have access to the information I have? she recalled.
This is what is known as excess self-esteem.
Michelle Obama is assuming that since she has a degree from Harvard and can’t figure out how to feed her kids, moms without degrees must be feeding their kids bits of dead rat on a stick.
Maybe Michelle should have considered the possibility that she should actually learn to cook, instead of a woman who couldn’t figure out how to feed her kids trying to tamper with everyone’s school lunches.
This is liberalism in a nutshell.
The First Lady recommended that schools make decisions for children because their parents struggle to feed their children well.
Its so important for our schools to make the hard calls for our kids, because parents are struggling enough at home, she said.
If we assume that parents can’t even figure out how to feed their kids because they’re too busy at Harvard, we might as well just raise them in communes.
But I guess that’s coming next.
She was an affirmative action Ivy League student. By her own admission. That may explain it. I would be embarrassed to tell the world that I was so well educated and did was clueless as to know how to feed my children. My uneducated mother did quite well feeding us.
Where she comes from, the statement is probably true.
Didn’t the moms ever go to school? They should have learned the basics of nutrition for themselves and their families there. If they didn’t learn how to kept fed and properly nourished then, how are the kids going to learn how to feed themselves in today’s schools?
These skills should have been instilled in those future moms LONG before they ever considered motherhood.
But maybe not.
In which instance, Michelle is no authority, either.
“I thought to myself, if a Princeton and Harvard-educated professional woman doesnt know how to adequately feed her kids, then what are other parents going through who dont have access to the information I have? she recalled.”
As a progressive she should be advocating the progressive answer to this problem. The government should require Princeton, Harvard and other Ivy League elitist schools to force all students to take child nutrition courses as a requirement for graduation.
Problem solved.
> My uneducated mother did quite well
My mother was born in Italy. Managed to get a HS education here in the states.
I . ate. very . very . well.
:)
This is such nonesense. For any mother interested in the subject, and it doesn’t take a Harvard degree or any college, they could type “child nutrition” into their google search engine and get all the information they needed. This is what any concerned mother would do in this day an age.
It’s amazing how mothers have been successfully feeding their children and families for thousands of years without any help from her.
“Can you give them PlayDoh on a dead mackerel?”
I bet that tastes better than some of the school lunches being served these days...
I guess the only thing she learned about food from her Mom was that quantity has a quality all of its own.
The big Mama has spoken. ‘moms don’t know how to raise or feed their children even though they have been doing it for millions of years, so big government has to do it for them.’ The big Mama will also train your children how to think. Like worship at the alter of transgender, lesbian, and faggot Gods.
Well, not everyone is a rich, educated idiot. I grew up in a blue-collar town. My mother finished the eighth grade. Still, she was able to cook us tasty and healthy meals. I had good lunches in school, too, where the lunchroom ladies actually cooked. Of course, this was in ancient times—the 1960’s and 1970’s.
“she explained, sharing a story about her childrens doctor who pulled her aside to talk about her family diet.”
If your kid’s doctor has to pull you aside to talk to you about what your kids are eating, should you really be telling other parents what to feed their kids?
Just sayin’.
“”My uneducated mother did quite well feeding us””
Amen....Don’t you wonder what she learned from her own mother about meal planning etc.? She would have us believe they lived in near poverty so we know there wasn’t a meal planner or part time cook for the family. So the logical question is - what did she pick up from her childhood except how to play the victim in a poor black neighborhood?
So Barry is incompetent in running anything and Michelle is incompetent in being a mother in certain areas (food, nutrition, multi-tasking work/kids, etc.) SO, they inflict their incompetent ideas on the rest of the country. Then again, that IS what Libs do ... inflict their incompetence on everybody else.
Michelle still is not a nutrition expert. She not only has no legal authority to tell any school system what they should be feeding the kids, but she doesn’t know what she is talking about. She parrots a lot of pop culture notions about what is fit to eat, but what she says has little to do with science.
Sooo if she was too stupid to eat, how did she survive long enough to have 2 teenage daughters & survive herself? It’s a little ironic considering that Darwin is one of the left’s “heroes”.
“”Well, not everyone is a rich, educated idiot””
You would think she’d be ashamed of herself but shame is in short supply in a lib mind. My mother was a farmer’s wife and fixed three large meals each and every day for my father and hired men. When my sisters and I got older, we were expected to chip in to help. During different harvest seasons, meals were prepared for our own men and for neighbors who came to help. I don’t think anyone ever went away hungry or with complaints. Never occurred to anyone that a woman would NOT know how to cook a meal...
This was during the ‘40’s and ‘50’s.....
Yep, and just a few billion in government grants should be needed to cover the costs for those Ivy League schools to add the faculty and overhead needed to include the new academic requirements.
“”I thought to myself, if a Princeton and Harvard-educated professional woman doesnt know how to adequately feed her kids,””
Has she ever told us just what she learned at Princeton and Harvard that made her so knowledgeable about food and nutrition? Gosh - I hope no one puts her on the spot by asking her..
