RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (AP) It's perhaps appropriate that President Barack Obama is vacationing this weekend in California, where the state flag features a roaming grizzly. The restless president, who has compared himself to a caged animal on recent wanderings by declaring the "bear is loose," took a long Father's Day weekend away with his wife and older daughter.
The visit to the desert resort area of Palm Springs is one of the ways Obama has been trying to escape during his sixth year cloistered in the White House. "I think frankly we've all been through a cold and bitter winter and the bear has cabin fever," said Obama friend and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett. "His cabin is a little bit bigger and harder to escape than most."
Obama has fantasized about being "on a beach somewhere drinking out of a coconut" or simply being able to walk out of the White House gate and stroll around unrecognized. Obama has golfed every weekend since Washington's weather got clear enough to allow it in April, save a week when he was in Asia. Those close to Obama say his frequent golf outings are less about a love of the game than a desire to take a long walk outside. Obama also has been seen walking the darkened White House grounds, late into the evening, sometime with one of his dogs.

"Those close to Obama say his frequent golf outings are less about a love of the game than a desire to take a long walk outside." given how bad his golf score is, there may be some truth to that. if i golfed that much i would get much better. but i wouldn't be too arrogant to get lessons and ask for advice or too lazy to practice.

Nobody, nobody thinks it was a good idea for Obama to go golfing and fundraising this weekend. So, why did he do it? Because he was told to. And it isn’t Michelle telling him.

Since “bear” is a slang term for hairy gay male, was he referring to Kal or Reggie?

I think he loves the Perks, he just doesnt want the work and responsibility that goes along with them.
He has spent more time on the greens than in the Oval Office.
Mark Levin occasionally likes to read Obama's daily schedule. One such schedule started the day -- at noon -- lunchen with Biden -- then off to a fundraiser.
No wonder he is surprised when he watches CNN or MSNBC and discovers a major crisis or scandal has erupted.

[Obama also has been seen walking the darkened White House grounds, late into the evening,...BS. What a load of bull!]
“Bull” is right. If some casual observer could spot the president wandering the White House grounds so could a potential assassin. The Secret Service, despite all it's recent problems, wouldn't allow this.

WHO IS RUNNING THIS COUNTRY??!!!
Those CZARS who are fundamentally changing the nation behind the scenes.
There is probably more coordination and command-and-control of the various crises and scandals that we will ever know. There are too many of those crises and scandals for them to just be accidental.
Example: 60,000 to 90,000 unaccompanied children flowing across the border -- just the first 6 months of this year [last year had fewer than 4,000] and estimated to be about 150,000 by the end of the year. That flow didn't just happen all of the sudden.

This is bad, even by AP’s lower standards. Tiger Beat might even say it was too fawning for them.
