Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), issued a rare audio message back on January 21 in which he flatly stated his group’s intention to march on Baghdad and move into “direct confrontation” with the United States.
“Our last message is to the Americans. Soon we will be in direct confrontation, and the sons of Islam have prepared for such a day,”
When the House Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing on February 5 on al Qaida’s resurgence in Iraq, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran and Iraq Brett McGurk presented written testimony explaining the agenda of ISIS (also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL), and discussed Baghdadi’s audio message to Americans.
“We take such threats seriously and through cooperation with this committee and the Congress, we intend to help the Iraqis in their efforts to defeat ISIL over long term,” McGurk told the committee in his spoken testimony.
House Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers asked Brennan: “Do you believe that that ungoverned space presents a real threat to the United States of America, via al Qaida operations, or the West?
“I do,” said Brennan.

ISIS will probably wait till their butt-boy, obammy, leaves office, out of respect for all he has done to help them in their islamic conquest.
And they want to fight for Allah and a Muslim caliphate. We don’t want to be there. They will win, but we should make it extremely costly, so their adversaries in the Muslim world can defeat them when we leave.
Of course, our crucial mistake was in not bombing their part of the world to oblivion after their 9/11 attack on us. They would have understood that they had no chance against us. Our misplaced mercy was rewarded with nothing but misery, making us weaker and the jihadis stronger.
I don’t understand how intelligence was taken by surprise with the last few days of events if this was known back in January. Maybe they thought the guy was just talking like Obama does?

Obama is probably reserving rooms for them at Arizona military bases as we speak. Before you know it, they will be voting citizens whether they want to be or not.

What really gets me is that we had this war won, Iran was about to go into revolt, Lybia was peaceful. The dominos were all falling in the correct direction for the end of major terrorism. El-Presidente stopped and reversed their fall.
All the guys we lost, now for nothing.

What part of the world should we have bombed after 9/11? All of the terrorists were Saudi, and BinLaden was a Saudi national.
Many of us have prepared, too.
But 'direct confrontation'? I doubt it. My guess is they'll send their women in suicide vests.
And the answer is, “FORE”.
Yep...should have nuked a couple of major cities and then said "If we are attacked again we will double the cities nuked and we will continue to do so until there is no trace of Islam left on the earth."
But that would have and will never happen. We have lost the pride of our power.
