Chris Christie Rebuts Perry Comparison of Homosexuality To Alcoholism

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie takes questions at San Francisco flower shop GOP's Chris Christie pays a visit Facebook headquarters in California New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who signed legislation barring "gay conversion therapy" in his state, said Friday that Texas Gov. Rick Perry's comparison of homosexuality to alcoholism was wrong.

"I disagree with him, and I don't believe that's an apt analogy," Christie said during a San Francisco appearance alongside Neel Kashkari, the GOP candidate for California governor.

Christie was appearing with Kashkari in his role as head of the Republican Governors Assn., but he declined to speak for the organization and its members. "Every governor and public official has to speak for themselves on these issues," he told reporters. "I just spoke for myself."

I disagree with him, and I don't believe that's an apt analogy. - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, discussing Texas Gov. Rick Perry's comparison of homosexuality to alcoholism At a question-and-answer session Wednesday night in San Francisco, Perry reiterated his belief that homosexuality was a lifestyle choice.

"Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that," Perry said. "I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that."

Perry previously made that analogy in a 2008 book, and his views were discussed during his 2012 presidential campaign. But his comments Wednesday night before the Commonwealth Club of California, a nonpartisan speakers forum, sparked new interest in light of the Texas GOP's recent adoption of platform language endorsing "reparative therapy," which holds that counseling can change the sexual orientation of adults

“”I disagree with him, and I don’t believe that’s an apt analogy,” Christie said during a San Francisco appearance alongside Neel Kashkari, the GOP candidate for California governor. “

Kashkari is yet another GOP gay marriage fan.

After he loses to Jerry Brown in November maybe he can move to New Jersey and open ‘Neel and Christie’s Gay Wedding Chapel’.

He may be a fine governor but he’s not up to being President. It’s a bridge too far.

We really haven’t had a president that been up to being a president in almost 30 years.

But, but, Chris, it IS an apt analogy for 99% of homosexuals.

First off; Perry did not make the comparison. The relevant comparison he made was in how folks had the option of making choices. Pretty bad when folks who claim to be on your side of the aisle will use the Leftists “interpretations” just as basely as the Leftists do...

I have a “genetic predisposition” to make love to all women. I have made a “lifestyle choice” to remain faithful to my wife. To deny that such factors may also be true for gays ignores reality. This whole blowup about Perry is simply a media effort to take him out, again.

Why do you disagree? Do you think you have no choice but to drink to excess, or do you believe you can choose not to drink?

Or do you believe homosexuals are genetically compelled to engage in gay sex without the ability to make behavioral choices?

Which part do you disagree with, and how does your alcoholism inform your opinion?

Alcoholism...... how about gluttony?

Like gluttony, homosexuality can be cured.

Well Mr Christie I suggest you take it up with God. God set up what is sin and both alcoholism and homosexualism are sins according to the Word. I know it is easier to say you disagree with Perry but in reality you are disagreeing with God so man up and go whole hog if you think homosexual activity is not a sin.

With a history of being pro-ILLEGAL alien, the foisting of his nanny-state Gardasil mandate on Texas females, his support for the NAFTA Superhighway, his support for instate tuition and financial aid for ILLEGAL aliens, and his opposition to building a fence at the border, La Raza Rick Perry is anything but a “fine governor”.
